Anybody see this movie I managed to see it in LA while I was in town. It was really good although far too long. It was about 3 hours and didnt need to be thatr long. The script needed to be tighter and fcous on a smaller amount of characters. Still it was really good and the guy who played Hitler was amazing!!! Check the movie out. It made a nice compliment with Upside Of Anger

SPOILERS
I agree that it was longish, once Hitler killed himself the movie started to drag more than it should have. That said, it was still an excellent film and while it definitely focussed on many characters, that was needed IMO to give an historic overview of everything and everybody.
Oh, and the girl who played Hitler's secretary was quite a hottie, especially when she's wearing the helmet at the end.

I wanna see this real bad...sounds like a good companion piece to the movie with Kenneth Branagh..."Conspiracy"
I recently seen the docu' Blind Spot: Hitlers Secretary..which much of the Downfall is based on...you really have to be a hardcore fan of documentaries to get thru Blind Spot....its only 87 minutes, but all it consists of is the now old woman talking.....in german....so you need the subtitles...cause its ONLY talking...in German.... :D No archival footage, photos..NOTHING..just talking...in a way I am glad I didnt know that, cause I may have passed this up and then not been interested in the movie Downfall...of course the AMC theater by me wont carry it....cant deny people their fucking pop culture...ie...Diary of a Mad Black Woman, Hostage, etc.... all those theaters under one roof and you'd think they would at least have one showing per day...in the afternoon..on a fucking thurday at least.... I'll have to wait for dvd.

Finally saw it few weeks ago and thought it was great. Didn't seem too long to me since I didn't check my watch even once. Bruno Ganz was fantastic, all the way to the Austrian accent.

*POSSIBLE SPOILERS (But it's history and has been written) :p*
Well I went to see this one today, cuz I had read the description of it on a moviesite that I visit... This movie's an Independant flick, and basically chronicles the last 10 days of WW2 and follows Hitler's last days alive in his bunker in Berlin.... VERY good movie, the man who played Hitler was FLAWLESS, he looked JUST like him and threw fits and displayed the evil, un-caring, hearlessness that this son of a bitch was known for...
It's based off of the stories of one of Hitler's personal secretaries, her stories are detailed in another independant documentary where she sits for a coupla hours and goes into details about the last few days of Hitler's life and of the War... Then they made this movie "Downfall" to detail it, and show the in-depth view from the enemies side....
VERY interesting movie, I found myself no really giving a fuck about the German innocent civilians who were dying throughout the film (with the exception of the kids, and the people who hated Hitler) but it was just really neat to kinda see things from that perspective... I learned a few things I had no idea about, like how Hitler and his wife Eva got married like 2-3 days before they committed suicide at the end... Lots of different details I wasn't aware of, and if you can see this movie, I HIGHLY recommend it!!!
