If you haven't seen the trailer for "Red Eye", go see it, and see it before you read the plot description.
But I must say, after reading the plot description, what a disappointement!!!! The trailer is still cool, but the plot is in no way similar to what the trailer conveys.

When I saw the trailer, I immediately thought that Cillian Murphey was satan or was death. Because he was so charming, and his eye turned red! And there was screaming and horror music, and "no!!!"s and i assumed death was there to crash the plane or something.
It was way cool how it switched so drastically from romantic-com to straight-up horror in a matter of seconds! And then i saw Wes Craven's name flashed, and it became surreal and fantastic.
And then after I looked up the plot and there is nothing supernatural - he is just extorting her by threatening her father or something. What a letdown!

please dont be serious...I NEED this.... but in all seriousness I also was impressed with how it looked like a romance movie to begin with. Let me guess, you saw it before The Ring 2?

I will agree, the trailer was very misleading. I thought he was satan or some kind of monster-Very disapointing.

yeah it got me as well, it still might be good though
Man, what a rip off. The trailer had me ready to pre-order tickets!
That is one damn good trailer, though. I'd vote for it for the Golden Schmoes next year.

I didn't think he was the devil, or death or somthing. Just some fucked up infatuated psycho... thats all.
Great trailer, this will hopefully clear the water from the Cursed bomb.

God fucking dammit.
This trailer kicked my fuckin ass before the Ring 2 - took my by COMPLETE fuckin surprise.
I too thought he was death and/or the Devil. I mean, just look at the imagery. And then BAM, Wes churns out instead another shitty movie.
Why cant he rewrite and reshooot THIS film, and make it what the trailer makes us think it is. Satan flying on his Frequent Flier miles.
Fuck!

I totally agree...
But then again, it is Wes Craven, and the commericial looked horror-like, and it was before Ring 2...so maybe there are some horror surprises up Craven's sleeve.
The guy may not be all that he appears...
Although Wes Craven has lost some major credibility in the genre, and really hasnt made anything that memorable in years, this may be some sort of surprise hes trying hide.
Then again it could be another "thriller" involving secrets and blackmail...yawn...
We'll have to wait and see.

Nice trailer indeed. I didn't actually like how Cillian Murphy (the chap from 28 Days Later) got the red-eye...looked tacky but it's obvious that effect was just used for the trailer. I didn't get the impression that he was satan or a mark of the planes apocalypse, I guessed he was there for a type of settling of scores, which is exactly what it's all about.
I wasn't even aware of this project, turns out Wes was dying to get on with this and push Cursed to the curb. I'm up for anything Craven squeezes out, I don't know what it is about him but I'm attracted to his projects.

Personally I think Wes Craven is overrated, his last memorable film was A Nightmare On Elm Street, anything since has been mediocre at best. I don't expect anything much from Red Eye, call me cynical but I'm only going on his back catalogue.....

I would be dissapointed if it was the devil or something. Why would the spawn of evil in our natural world travel pan-am just to fuck around with some bernette chick... and why the hell would he choose the isle seat?
This looks suprisingly very cool, and Brian Cox is in it... I'm hopefull Wes can bring back the magic of Nightmare and Scream 1.

Red Eye looks like a sleek thriller, and I'm glad that Craven hasn't rested on his laurels. The trailer is great. I don't see what the big problem is. Yes, it's slightly misleading, but a film about Satan on an airplane wouldn't be so fetching. If you'll notice, Red Eye has never been referred to as a horror film. In all of the news reports that I've read, it has always been dubbed a "thriller." I wasn't expecting cloven-footed demons and head explosions.

Indeed, "Red Eye" looks decent. In fact, when reading the synopsis for this film (i won't get into it, i'll let you find out yourself) i felt it seemed rather remniscent of a little film starring Johnny Depp entitled "Nick of Time". Actually, the premise is seemingly equant, just minutely modified. Since i felt that "Nick of Time" was a very solid white-knuckler, i'm going to keep MY eyes on "Red Eye".

Misleading or not, I can assure you that half the people watching THE RING 2 were immediately sold and will watch this movie. That was one brilliant trailer.

If thats true then the trailer is very misleading. The trailer whooped my ass when I first saw it. I really hope it turns out good, I'm not expecting much simply because its Wes Craven I agree with what jagged halo said about Wes.

Not to sound like the back-end of a nagging echo, but this trailer was indeed awesome and very missleading. I knew about Red Eye and the plot, so when I saw the trailer I was a bit confused. Delighted, but confused. Hope the movies at least as good as the trailer....unlike Ring 2. BTW, I didn't even recognize Cilian Murphy, he looked different.
