Plot: From director Wes Craven (the “Scream” franchise) comes “Red-Eye,” a suspense thriller at 30,000 feet. Lisa Reisert (Rachel McAdams) hates to fly, but the terror that awaits her on the night flight to Miami has nothing to do with a fear of flying. Moments after takeoff, Lisa’s seatmate, Jackson (Cillian Murphy), menacingly reveals the real reason he’s on board: He is an operative in a plot to kill a rich and powerful businessman…and Lisa is the key to its success. If she refuses to cooperate, her own father will be killed by an assassin awaiting a call from Jackson. Trapped within the confines of a jet at 30,000 feet, Lisa has nowhere to run and no way to summon help without endangering her father, her fellow passengers and her own life. As the miles tick by, Lisa knows she is running out of time as she desperately looks for a way to thwart her ruthless captor and stop a terrible murder.

After Craven's lastest effort, Cursed, was put in a doggy-bag and left to grow hairy it looks as though there's still hope for the "horror master" with Red Eye. With not releasing a half-decent flick in a near 10 years (Scream) it looks like this could put Wes back on the footpath.

I'm kinda done with Wes Craven.

He's as much to horror now as Michael Jordan was to Ball Park hotdog commercials.

From Wes Craven...the director of "Scream"....
If I had a dime for every time I heard this kind of tag line...

Wes Craven, was one of the pioneers of low budget indie filmmaking that bucked the traditional hollywood system, who broke the status quo...only to become the status quo...how fucking sad!

"Scream" was a self aware parody in and of the 80's' sub-genre, there is MORE to the mans legacy then this one shot joke!

FUCKING SAD!!!

Saw the preview a couple of minutes ago and I must say it looks kind of nice. Different, but nice. And is it me or does Murphy look freaky with hair on his head or what? I kind of have that image of him hairless in 28 days later stuck on my head...:D

Seriously though, it looks like a different type of film for craven. Slightly more "serious" then what he normally makes. Im with The Dead One on this one, Ive seen Craven degenerate into a watered down version of himself and its just sad.

This looks interesting, and it could be good for Craven to try and work in a limited space (a plane). Cillian Murphy and Brian Cox are good actors, so I'll definitely watch this.

Indeed, "Red Eye" looks decent. In fact, when reading the synopsis for this film (i won't get into it, i'll let you find out yourself) i felt it seemed rather remniscent of a little film starring Johnny Depp entitled "Nick of Time". Actually, the premise is seemingly equant, just minutely modified. Since i felt that "Nick of Time" was a very solid white-knuckler, i'm going to keep MY eyes on "Red Eye".

It actually looks decent. Hopefully it will turn out okay.

Loved how deceiving the trailer was.

thought the trailer started off looking like a very arty film (me love art films) and I LOVE when everything darkens but the red eye! classic!

I haven't seen Cursed yet....but I downloaded it and shall watch it but I must say Scream 2 and 3 sucked balls so I'm guessing the re-team of Craven & Williamson won't be any better than them...from what I've read it's worse!

....Anyway this looks extremely interesting! I shall check this one out!

Oh does anyone know if Craven is still involved in that Pulse remake? That sounds very exciting. I mean I know hes doing The Breed but like afterwards is he set to do Pulse?

Cant watch the trailer now since can't turn volume up on computer until later, but I know for a fact I hope they change the title. RED EYE just...isn't catchy, sounds more like a title for a film that's easily forgotten or cheaply created. Doesn't sit right with me. RED EYE??

Well, like I said in an earlier post, I wouldn't mind this making money so that I can see the sure-to-be much better sequel, Brown Eye. Hardy har har!

I saw some of the trailer, and I wasn't impressed. I'm sure it's not going to be that good at all. Sorry to say.

He's just an operative out to kill someone? The trailer with his red eye-I thought he was going to be a demon or something paranormal was going to happen. Shit. I was really looking forward to this after seeing the trailer. Erin Loj, about the title, flights that you have to get up really early for-like flights that take-off at 5 in the morning are commonly called red eyes. Guess they decided to play with that.
