got this at: MovieRatingsMislead.com through a link at fucking EW.com (Entertainment Weekly)
WHAT IS THIS MOVIE RATED?!
How many times have you been watching a movie with your family only to be caught off guard by the unforeseen placement of nudity, vulgar language, or graphic violence?
Even if you can cover the children's eyes and ears in time…the damage has already been done. Though your children may never imitate the foul scenes from the movie, those scenes are with them forever and are proven to have long-lasting psychological effects.
THE MOVIE RATING SYSTEM CAN'T BE TRUSTED!
After a similar situation my family had a little meeting to discuss what we saw. We had already made the decision not to watch R rated movies. What we didn't realize is that the movie rating system can't be trusted anymore. A recent study conducted by Harvard indicates that movie ratings have been "creeping" over the last 10 years. The people who decide movie ratings don't have Christian values - it seems to me like they only value money.
My 14 year old brother got an eye full of two girls going at it in a hot-tub thanks to Dumb and Dumberer - a movie rated as PG-13! Although the MPAA thinks that two girls making out in a jacuzzi is okay for 14 years olds to watch - we aren't okay with that in our Christian house.
Well at least we can watch movies rated PG… right? Wrong. My 7 year old sister thinks that Pinocchio is a women's thong-underwear wearing cross-dresser after watching Shrek 2 - a PG movie!
So unless a movie is rated G then you can almost expect there will be at least some kind of objectionable content - and here's why:
HOLLYWOOD'S AGENDA TO
INDOCTRINATE YOUR CHILDREN
In my younger days I worked in the Hollywood TV and movie industry. From my experiences there I can tell you this: Everyone from the screen writers to the costume and set designers to the actors and agents - they live a completely different lifestyle than you and I do.
The majority of them aren't married and don't have children. A large number are homosexuals, and the rest are very supportive of the homosexual behavior of their friends and colleagues. The attitude is that "it's all good" and they're open to try and accept anything. Most of them don't align themselves with any sort of religion or set of morality - yet these are the people who create the programming that all of us Christians watch! Should we be surprised when it doesn't meet our standards?
These ultra-liberals are rabid mad at anyone who dares insinuate that right and wrong exist, because it means that they would have to re-evaluate their lives and choices. This is why they are doing the best they can to use their influence in the media to indoctrinate our youth with their agenda; to "teach" them to embrace of the things that we know are wrong. Today's Shrek watchers are tomorrow's choice-making adults, voters and lawmakers.
WHAT CAN YOU DO ABOUT IT?
If you search the internet for "Christian movie reviews" you will soon find that it's nearly impossible to find anything coming out of Hollywood that meets Christian standards.
Even the good movies have those little "surprises" in them. So what can you do about it?
Now Your Family Can Watch Movies
With All The Obscene Parts Deleted!
Thanks to CleanFilms - The World Leader in
providing family edited DVD versions
of popular Hollywood movies.
A new service called CleanFilms lets your family rent DVDs with all the sexual situations, offensive language, and graphic violence edited out!
CleanFilms' professional editors use the same technologies and techniques to edit out offensive content as Hollywood editors use in their everyday editing of film and TV content.
For profanity or other offensive language, the dialogue volume is often muted, while secondary sound is kept for continuity. For scenes with nudity, sexual content, extreme violence, or extreme language, a cut edit is typically used.
These edits are designed by professionals to be inconspicuous, similar to when viewing PG-13 or R rated movies that have been edited to be shown on network television or airlines.
SAY GOODBYE TO DUE DATES, LATE FEES
AND MIDNIGHT TRIPS TO THE VIDEO STORE.
In addition to family edited movies CleanFilms makes renting movies really easy.
HERE'S HOW IT WORKS:
Go online to select the family edited movies you'd like to rent.
The DVDs get sent right to your home - FREE SHIPPING!
Take as long as you want to watch the movies - NO LATE FEES!
When you send a movie back CleanFilms sends you the next one on your list.
With CleanFilms what you don't get is as important as what you get!

All of that to fuckin advertise some crappy stupid ass Christian Video rental service. A 14 year old can handle fucking DUMB AND DUMBERER!! a 7 year old can handle fucking SHREK 2!! Shit is ridiculous!
Im so glad i was raised WITHOUT fucking christian values! This way im not a big fucking TOOL like these people are (not saying all christians are Tools... but the ones like this are!)(i got no religion... but thats a whole dif story)!!
Shit is just annoying...
It reminds me of when i was watching Family Business on Showtime.. and cousin Steve's nephew went to a Las Vegas convention with Seymore Butt's.. and he saw 2 hot ass chicks that were porn stars and he was just like "durrrrr boobies... durrr me likey... duuuur durrrr" thats the way these 7 and 14 year olds are being raised! They are pry the first ones to go to college on an academic scholarship and fuck it up because they have never heard about the effects of hardcore heroine use!!
I hate people that fucking act like they are the entire worlds fucking parents! I got 2 parents, and they raised me just fine... i didnt watch R rated movies til i was like 10 or somewhere around there... cuz thats when my parents knew i was cool enough to watch them and think nothing of it. Been interested in flicks my whole life, and they knew i knew the difference between fiction and real world!
People piss me off!

RE:
Quite bizarre statements, and not at all accurate. Contary to the beliefs of this person, people in entertainment industry DO get married and they DO get children. Just as much as average person.
They amount of homosexuals is probably slightly larger than on the population on average, but we are talking about a very slight difference here. Entertainment industry is not just fashion industry. The biggest difference is just that gays in the biz jobs are more open about their homosexuality because the industry doesn't give a fuck whether they are gays or not.

Maybe I'm missing something...but who cares?
You can get into censorship and destroying artistic integrity, but if religious people don't want to be bombarded by sex, language, and violence, then who's to say they can't? Pyschodude (it's Psycho, by the way), you say that your parents didn't make you go to church...and this is why you...hate religious people? What?
As long as someone isn't forcing you to watch censored material, then I think every parent has the right to chose entertainment that suits the creed and beliefs that they hold dear. Obviously you're not the target market for this...that's fantastic, but this really pisses you off THAT much? Maybe then it's not these Christian groups that need to be straightened out but those among us that can't accept that different people value different things.

nah dude.... if a parent doesnt want their child to see a movie because they feel it is to graphic... than that is cool with me. Because that is between the mother n child... BUT when these parents attack the movie, and attack everything... and try and ruin everything for EVERYONE not just their own soon to be fucked up child.. thats what i (and most ppl) have problems with. They arent MY parents.. so who the fuck are they to tell ME what i can and cant watch.
These are the people that are the cause for directors and studios to become SCARED to make R rated films. And always have to dumb down what should be an R rated flick, because they dont want some annoying smelly cunt to cry about the movie when they let their child watch it because apparently they dont know what the letter R stands for (in movie lingo).
And i agree with saying im not a big fan of religious people, its not the whole lot of them... but it is a distinct few that are creating a generalization for the whole lot.
I dont understand why I ( a 20 year old dude) have to sit through a movie that was rated R 2 weeks ago.. but is now PG13 because some dude at a studio got scared that some anal cunt mother would let her kid see it and cry about it.

Just laugh at it.
You can't avoid these "moral wrongs" today. While some other countries(mainly in Europe)realize that something like sex is human nature and shouldn't be shunned, therefore they are open with it and treat it decently. It's no wonder why people complain about the "smut" in North America....we're so tasteless and immature about it.

Holy shit, this is the funniest fucking thing I've ever seen. When I got to the part where it starts describing "Cleanfilms", I laughed even harder because a friend of mine was babysitting for a family who gets this service. He said they watched the Matrix and it was like 45 minutes long, plus it didn't even make sense.
Stupid Christians. Ooops I'm Christian. And I don't care. I'd like to see where CleanFilms is financially about this month next year. I can't see very many people buying into this clean/censored bullshit. It's ignorant and really sort of pathetic when you have a group of religous zealots trying to run the world. Why do you think there's been such a decline in R-Rated horror, and action movies featuring less and less gun violence and blood? Its because of all these religious nuts who started coming out of the bloody woodwork. Now they're using the internet as a way to censor the world, not just their own lives, and the lives of thier kids.
But in a way its sort of a good thing, because its forcing underground and indie movies to make up for the deluge of good action/horror in theatres now.
BTW does anyone know what movies they offer on CleanFilms?

That type of stuff wont work tho.
My Uncle works with a guy who is really Christian like this, and his VCR or DVD has an editing thing where it takes out all the bad words. Well he was watching an old movie, and they were talking about a guy, and either his name was Dick or they were talking about a Private Dick, and the thing bleeped it out.
So basically it could have mishaps. And if you can't watch it the way it's supposed to be than why watch it at all?

What? The decline in R rated horror and action films is because of religious people? Are you serious? The decline in R rated horror films started with the success of "The Ring" and has continued ever since. The film business is just that, a business. Look at the facts. Take the last four years. Out of the 40 highest grossing films, 37 weren't rated R. The only 3 that were R were the Matrix sequels and Terminator 3. Think this is a coincidence or the insidious work of religious zealots?
Horror movies and action films are being cut down because the film business doesn't thrive on adults anymore. It's teenagers. Making an R rated film is a financial risk and often one that the studios, after investing millions, can't afford to make. Or maybe it's just those damn Gideons...

I have a friend who's mom would fastforward through sex scenes in movies...
So you'd still get to see the sex, but they're just doing it REALLY REALLY FAST!!
:D
I think that's probably the inspiration for the majority of my modern day issues of what happens when I hold hands with a chick I like.

1) If someone decides to watch a movie they should watch the proper thing or not watch it at all. The sex/nudity/swearing/violence is there for a reason. That's how the director intended it. If you don't like what's in the real film don't watch it at all.
2) Children can watch gruesome movies without then feeling the urge to shoot up thier school or rape thier siblings.
3) There is nothing evil about nudity. You see nudity every day when you get changed or take a bath.
4) The American ratings system is full of shit.
5) I'd pay to see the CleanFilms version of Scarface.

Let's take a look at how I could jump to this radical conclusion:
"THIS is why I don't like religious people." The word "this" implies that the information just presented is the reason you don't like religious people. What was the information provided in the previous sentence? "My parents never made me go to church or have been strict with what I watch." Hmmm...therefore, we can conclude from what you wrote that you don't like religious people because your parents didn't make you go to church and weren't strict with what you watched.
You're right, it doesn't make any damn sense. And no, I didn't misinterpret it. I interpreted it just as you wrote it. But if you're still struggling to see how I 'jumped' to that conclusion, you may need to revise your writing technique.
I'm not trying to pick a fight with you over something that you probably just didn't clarify enough in your writing, but as it's written your logic is strange.

Their constant lies about how Hollywood is trying to indoctrinate their children and their successful attempts at controlling broadcast content through excessively high fines against so-called moral violations certainly do affect all of us and our choices of what we can watch. They now want to extend those rules to include cable content as well.

You directly insulted a member of this board and a nation where many of its members live. There's no call for this behavior at all. They are not in touch with America, despite making over $9 billion in domestic theatrical box office alone last year. We prove this because Glorious Sire Mel Gibson made a religious film that became huge, showing that the demons have not completely clogged the cineplex.
But don't underestimate them! These Godless heathens are to be feared, like that brown-skinned girl at school with the headscarf and Kurdish accent, they are trying to chip away and destroy all things American. They are not moral like you and I are, they pray to a false God, they don't believe in Jesus, they fly planes into our skyscrapers! Fear them!
But you can counterback these demons by praying to Jesus, and never ever question the Party or government. Other things to do: protest your school for teaching evolution, burn copies of the Koran, boycott movies (unless they are made by the glorious Mel Gibson or the Church), boycott entertainment, unless it is officially sealed and approved by the Party!
Fear the outsiders, they wish to harm us, rape us and decimate us! We must fight for America's future!
So sing the praises of our Moral and Righteous President, Prophet George Dubya Bush, grow up happy and stupid, never questioning the values of The President (unless he is an ignorant baby-murdering Dumb-O-Crat) or The Party (which is never wrong). And if they tell you to drink the funny-looking Kool-Aid, do it! Don't forget to join the Army either, so you can blow up those ignorant Arabese terrorists.

I'm a Christian; I go to church every now and again - I just don't understand why these die hard Christian groups believe that rules and laws - like ratings and such - are based on Christian values. It just seems to me that they don't realize that there are other religions and those that don't believe in a higher power (this would be God) and they like to watch movies too.
Not to forget that there's something called the 1st Amendment - freedom of speech, freedom of expression, and so forth.
So if they want their kids to not see any cursing, violence, sex, or anything "bad," they might as well throw out their TV, cable box, Xbox, and Blockbuster card - cuz, for the most part - they're going to find it in one way or another - whether it truly is or not.
On a Dumb and Dumberer, two girls going at it can also be seen on "The O.C." (not that I have a problem with that). So get pissed at the cable box too their buddy.

No, actually...I don't.
And if you can show me where it is in your post that you explain how "religious people feel the need to censor everything and think everything has to fit with their type of religious morals" I'd be eternally grateful.
No? Oh...Thanks for breaking it down so someone like 'me' can 'understand.'

I just thought of a new term (correct me if its already been made): BIBLE LOVEING BASTARDS!!!!!!! You see after being betrayed by the catholic church (long story) i have pretty much lost all respect for christianity and christian values. they obviously dont realize that they are preaching hate instead of love. So thankfully i will be converting to hinduism in a few years where sex is spiritual and they actually find good in all people. oh and uh listen to this prank call, its hilarous, but definitly listen to the end of the call. (note its censored but i still dont suggest playing out loud) good christian people (http://media.ebaumsworld.com/index.php?e=bergis-gayday.mp3)

I don't mind these edited videos.
When i was in school, I saw an edited version of Glory, because the school had a policy that they could only show G, or PG films.
To me, it was worth it that the movie was edited, because I think that the movie was that good. I had seen it prior and had no problems with the edit.
However, there are certain debates here about morals and what-not. I think getting into all of that is silly. It's no less fascist to rally against these censor people than it is to actually censor. I mean, hell, it isn't like they are destroying all versions.
I just think the content of that site was from an extremist. They were helluva nuts, and probably need medication. Maybe they were a failed screenwriter and they wanted to blame their failure on their "not being" homosexual. That's probably what it was.

My school lets my teachers show R-rated films, but they fucking fast foward through it right during the good parts. Also, These were the people that picketed against Spielberg petitioning for Saving Private Ryan be shown on Air unedited, and they had a tissy fit. pfft. They are so egomanic, that it isn't even funny. You can't hide something from your kids, it is just delaying the inevitable.

doesn't that basicly ruin the entire movie though? i mean entire scenes of movies will be cut and the film will not make sense.
on the flip side of that, all those fundimentalist douches will rent their precious coppy of passion of the christ only to find that its 15 minutes long.

Hey, some boobies or some hot lesbo action are two things that could cause the least damage to a kid, especially a 14 year old. Let's put it this way, the more time they spend whacking off to movies, the less likely they are to go out and shoot their classmates. The Bible, on the other hand, has some spookey stuff in it that can definitely do some damage!
