Holy shit. I like this. It has a really different feel to it. I haven't heard of any song of theirs that sounds anything like this.
BOYB > Cigaro thx

I like this a lot
It sounds like they are putting more emphasis on the guitar for these two albums then on their other ones.
And yes this is better than Cigaro which is decent, but the awful lyrics bring it down.

Where are you guys hearing this song at? Is there a link? If you heard it on the radio, then I'm out of luck.
EDIT: It stands for "Bring Your Own Bombs," by the way.

Nice. Very nice. I love the Machine Head-like riff.
Better than Cigaro, but the latter is very good too. A lot of people think the lyrics of Cigaro suck, but if you about think how appropriate they are in the world today, it makes the song a lot better. The world's a three-ring circus where superpowers are involved in a pissing contest to see whose cock is bigger. Seeing that BYOB is equally political ("Why don't presidents fight the war?/ Why do they always send the poor?"), I'm guessing Serj is really going to take the piss out of Bush's doctrine in the forthcoming album.

Thanks, Frank! I dig. I've heard two songs, and I still have no idea of what the rest of the albums will sound like. That's a good thing.

This song won't be big like Chop Suey was, not as catchy, but who cares, it still kicks ass.

My cock is much bigger than yours.
Cigaro was alright. I wish they'd stop trying to be like Rage Against the Machine with their crappy political lyrics.

here are the Lyrics to BYOB... Thanks to HateBreeder420 over at the System Of A Down message Boards:
WHY DO THEY ALWAYS SEND THE POOR?!
My god is of spiteful blood with morbid eels
Victorious Victorious steel
can your spending kneel?
marching forward hypocritic
and hypnotic computers
you depend on our protection
yet you feed us lies from the tablecloth
la la la la la la la la la la
everybody is going to the party
have a real good time
dancing in the desert
blowing up the sunshine
kneeling roses
disappearing into Moses' dry mouth
breaking into Fort Knox
stealing our intentions
every city gripped in oil
crying freedom!
handed to obsoletion
still you feed us lies from the tablecloth
la la la la la la la la la la
everybody is going to the party
have a real good time
dancing in the desert
blowing up the sunshine
everybody is going to the party
have a real good time
dancing in the desert
blowing up the sunshine
blast off, it's party time
and we all live in a fascist nation
blast off, it's party time
and where the fuck are you?
Where the fuck are you?
Where the fuck are you?
Why don't presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor?
Why don't presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor?
Why do they always send the poor?
Why do they always send the poor?
Why do they always send the poor?
kneeling roses
disappearing into Moses' dry mouth
breaking into Fort Knox
stealing our intentions
every city gripped in oil
crying freedom!
handed to a obsoletion
still you feed us lies from the tablecloth
la la la la la la la la la la
everybody is going to the party
have a real good time
dancing in the desert
blowing up the sunshine
everybody is going to the party
have a real good time
dancing in the desert
blowing up the sun...
where the fuck are you?
Where the fuck are you?
Why don't presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor?
Why don't presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor?
Why do they always send the poor?
Why do they always send the poor?
Why...do...they always send the poor?
Why...do...they always send the poor?
Why...do...they always send the poor?
They always send the poor!
They always send the poor

I liked System of a Down the first time, when they were called Rage Against the Machine. Buh Bye.

I have to stifle my laughter at any SOAD/RATM comparisons. They are so completely different in style and sound, it's just fucking hilarious that people would say one is derivative of the other.

Nah guy...they're both political...and have four members...and four-word band names...they're the same band!

SOAD is much more versatile, and are capable of songs with real emotion (besides anger at "the man"). RATM was great at what they did, but I think SOAD is the better band. And no, I don`t think they sound very similar at all. I can`t imagine RATM doing "Spiders" or "Chop Suey" or "Aerials".
