I dont know if this belongs in rants or the dvd section but here it goes

I just rented two dvds (Flight of the Pheonix, Fat Albert) from Blockbuster and I get home and put the dvd in and what am i greeted with An Anti Piracy ad and this wasnt like our normal "Im Manny Perry and I make movies" ad this is a crappy long ass waste of DVD space.

I dont know why they put it on the dvd to "get the message" out but they shouldnt because if you think about it they are preaching to the wrong crowd because a) I got the dvd from the store b) I didnt download it and i dont think I should be punished for some guy with Kazaa who downloads the movie for free. Heres an idea you Piracy Ad making pricks, why dont you put these ads on film rolls before your studio suddenly "loses" the film reel and its leaked on the internet!!

You know what I like to do? I like to download just the "anti-piracy" ads for FREE from the internet! :D

It's not there for downloaders.

It's there for people who rent the film, and then burn an exact duplicate onto a DVD+R before returning it.

There's this neat litle button on your DVD Remote called a skip chapter button, or the old fashioned fast forward that you could always use. But hey maybe I'm just old fashioned.....

hmmmm and I thought the studios that dorwn you with previews up to the ass on the RENTAL versions may I add was bad as is... :confused:

Might as well show that scence from American Werewolf in London errrr something.... Maybe that will raise some eyebrows :eek:


BTW since where talkin about piracy what is the symbol thats on the back of the DVD of Finding Neverland?!?!? Its between the DVD Video logo and the Miramax Logo?!?!?
It's a don't do symbol and a disc w/ an arrow pointing down on the left side. DO I assume that this disc can't be copied?!?!
