Anyone a fan of these Krautrock bands? I've been listening to a lot of Neu! for the last week or so and it's gotta be said...they were remarkably ahead of their time and highly influential. You can trace a path from Neu! that will lead you to such diverse talents as The Aphex Twin, Spiritualized, David Bowie (his Low album being the most obvious example), Spacemen 3 etc. So far i've only indulged in a few Neu! albums and I was hoping some of my fellow Krautrock loving schmoes could offer me some guidance. How do Can and Faust compare to Neu!? Should I assume that i'll find their albums just as appealing as Neu! or are there significant differences? Are they less approachable? Any advice appreciated. Neu! are fucking fantastic though.

Can are one of the coolest bands I know of.

And yes, very ahead of their time.

you are a genius to make a thread about it.

neu invented trance and punk, can invented post punk, and faust inspired all of those shit post rock bands that came around in the 90's.

if anybody wants to buy a krautrock album, id start with neu! 75 since it is accessable and still great, but can and faust are pretty hard to get into, but once you do its well worth it.

and yes neu are fucking great
