Come On Schmoes! I am lookin for songs that emphasizes on Goodbye meaning it does NOT have to be in the song at all.......

For example .....

Songs like

Semisonic's Closing Time and a lesser known 80s track by Patty Smyth when she was known as Scandal did a track called Goodbye To You....

Is there any other songs similar? :(

That Pink Floyd track on The Wall. I think it's simply entitled "Goodbye"

Good bye my friend I'm leaving you today.
Good-bye... Good-bye.... Good-bye.....

Nice-- As much as I really disliked that Green Day song, it really hit me on the season finale of Seinfeld. That was a perfect time to use it.

When Pigs Fly - Bullet Boys

"When the sun sets in the east
and rises in the west
when pigs sprout wings and fly
then I'll come back to you"

Sounds like a "good bye" to me. :)

Since Your Gone - The Cars

I fucking love this song. Would work great for the end credits of a drama.

Pantera - Living Through Me (Hells' Wrath)

I cannot take the take,
your condition was nod awake
A selfish cryer, boldface liar,
robbing all of what you could take in

Stabbed towards a death,
a dirty smelling girl
Shit decisions, no provisions,
filling veins with juice of chaos

[Chorus]
Painted face, olive drab, swollen hole, empty bag,
sunken eyes, whining dog,
it's times like this you should pray for never

I broke your fucking mold
then threw away the cast,
new religion and new provisions,
it's amazing you're alive

Drop the needle and stop what you're changing into
Erase the end dissolving, disgrace is needed more

So I mended severed ties,
through flesh we cauterized
the undeserving, sliming, writhing,
I filled you up with watered promise

[Chorus]

[Chorus #2]
Spitting teeth, oral lust, alley fuck,
angel dust, anal whore, bleeding knees,
it's times like this to pray for murder
So now I've seen it all,
Hells' wrath,
no man has greater glory,
cause now you're living through me

So I'm done with saving you,
a gift unto myself,
a tired savior, a wasted favor,
and I'm lucky I'm alive

I broke your fucking mold
then threw away the cast

Also, Pantera's "Shedding Skin" has this line that can be directed at some people, "Your flower has soured, it's endless, you're friendless!"

"So-Long-Farewell-Goodbye!" - Big Bad Voodoo Daddy

.... at least, it seems like the title is something you're looking for.

Butterfly by Weezer

Since the song's essentially a retelling of the Madame Butterfly story from Sgt. Pinkerton's perspective, it kinda hits the whole goodbye theme home as it's a song to a lover who just killed herself.

Goodbye Earl---The Dixie Chicks (and it's permanent since Earl was killed)

DIVORCE by Tammy Wynette

She's Outta My Life by Michael Jackson

Goodnight Sweetheart by Sha-Na-Na

The End by The Doors

He Stopped Loving Her Today by George Jones

(you realize that when it comes to goodbye songs, you can't beat country music. You can't be in country music and not have a song that talks about somebody leaving. :D

My favorite goodbye songs of all time though are Go Your Own Way by Fleetwood Mac, The Dance by Garth Brooks, and White Flag by Dido.

Led Zeppelin- Babe I'm Gonna Leave You
Candlebox- Far Behind (about someone else saying goodbye)
Blink 182- Dammit
Also, REM has done some really good ones: Leaving New York, I'll Take the Rain, Try Not to Breathe (it's about an old guy dying, so I kinda think of it as a goodbye song)
