It's my day off from work & I am in the mood to catch up on some NEW movies that came out this weekend....
I narrowed my choice on "Sin City" cause I liked what I saw from the previews and I am always 10X more interested on new stuff never seen before. I looked around and was deciding if I should see it in my area or trek over to San Francisco.... I noticed that the Metreon which is screening the movie has a showing of the movie at 10:40 A.M. ?!?!?!? DAMN! Thats awfully early! WTF?!?!? Also their weekend showings of matinees is only good on the first one and any others after that is 9.75
Makes me wonder.... Usually after 11 AM or better yet Noon seems like a feasible time for a movie to start...... It's bad as is tryin to race down to the theater (bus/car/whatever) to get into a matinee showing cuz I would quickly zip up my wallet if I had to shell out $10 for a movie if I did not make it on time or if the showing was sold out... It's not a first that Loews shedules their movies super duper early but it would be great to move it back to a reasonable time for us folks who do NOT live in the city to plan their day at your theater cause a 10:40 showing is toooo damn early! !!!!
Looks like Van Ness which is AMC or Empire which is Century chain is gonna be getting my business today....

I was going to disagree with you but then you said the matinee is only good with the first showtime. I could definately see how inconvient that would be. If you have a REGAL theater near you, you could go to it. There matinee is before 6:00 PM on weekdays and before 3:00 PM at weekends and holidays.

My theater here starts films at 12:30 and up for matiness I like those shows becasue the night shows you alway get jackasses in there and they talk and there cell phones go off Matinees are good and quiet. They had Sin city here at 3:30 on Friday which was a good time I caught it then

Well The Metreon which is owned by Loews......
Monday thru Thursdays their matinees does not limit to just the first show only..... Fridays - Sundays is only the first showing then its regular price from then on..... So if you don't get into the matinees I will turn aorund regardless.... I went and saw Sin City at the AMC 1000 which is $8
but then again its beats the asking price of 9.75 at Metreon....

Well, if only the first movie's a matinee price, then I see why it would suck, but I like having the option of having movies whenever I want, whether they be early or late or midafternoon.

so only the FIRST showing of a movie everyday is considered for a matinee priice??

So if they had Sin City at 10am and one at 10:15am.. only the 10 am would be good for matinee price?

Thats stupid

here all matinees are shows before 6pm everyday.
