X3 - Lets cast the new Mutants!

Alright folks, we know Gambit, Beast and Angel will be joinging the gang in X3. Now lets start our dream cast!

BEAST

watch Deadwood, listen to the man speak, look at his movement. CGI can turn him fully and prosthetics/CG/workouts might make due with some muscle tone.

ANGEL

Check him out in Band of Brothers and Minority Report. More importantly than looks the man can act. The blonde hair might be much, dye it brown and he'll be great.

GAMBIT

Damn, this is a tough one to cast but I am 100% confident that the Rockwell can pull him off! He can grab Gambit's attitude. He should have becone A-List with Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, he can shine as Gambit. Yes he's too old for Rouge but didn't they leave that element in the dust when icey rolled in? Theres already tension between Logan and Icey anyway (though its more of a father figure to a daughters boyfriend) but if they add another level to the love of Paquin they'll be digging their grave.
give him longer hair and Rockwell's Gambit.

Mickey Rourke as Beast:

After watching him light up the screen in Sin City, I can't even think of anyone else playing this role. It might be a bad career choice to do a second comic book franchise, but he would rock in the role. He has the size, the voice, and the movements.

He's old for the part, no doubt. But like AP said getting involved with another love interest for Rogue would be silly. Although his work his been predominately tv, it's fantastic work, and I truly believe he can nail the attitude, the accent, and the look.

I like the idea of Ian McShane as Beast and James Marsters as Gambit. McDonough for Angel...could fit, but I think it'd be more interesting, from a narrative point of view, to have Angel be a tad younger.

I've always thought Guy Pearce would be an incredible Angel.

Probably would never happen though. But it's a nice thought.

I kinda like the idea of Angel being the man who has been funding the school. As it would give Angel and Professor X a history that until now, went largely unnoticed.

I like the idea of Neal McDonough as Angel. And I especially like the idea of him funding the school all along. That would sort of put him automatically in the universe (even in the first films, even though he's not seen), so I like it.

As for Gambit, I want a relatively unknown, about the same age as Rogue and Bobby. That love triangle is magic, and it's a crime to ignore it. That's probably the best lov triangle in comics. Perhaps, I know there are several. I was thinking of someone like this guy:

His name is Rodrigo Santoro, and he's been in a few things like Charlie's Angels:Full throtle. But I think he looks very much like a young Gamit. He's got that hint of mystery, looks like he's got a mixed ethnicity, and he's got the sexiness for the ladies. Perfect.

As for Beast, I think as long as you get Rick Baker working on the prosthetics, and you cast a good voice actor, you're set. That's assuming that they're going with the hairy blue Beast, as opposed to the earlier comic version.

Didn't they have someone already playing Hank McCoy in X2? Josh Brolin can still fill the shoes of the Beast. As for Mr. Marsters playing Gambit? The dude looks like a crack head. I do like the older Angel approach and having Neal McDonough.

I definitely agree and Brolin'd be my first pick. But apparently, the producers of the film disagree, as they seem to have already decided to cast someone else. They don't know who, but someone else.

Rodrigo Santoro does sort of look like a young gambit, but too latin for what i think they'll go with. Didn't they say they were going ot try and cast a big name for the part of Gambit?

James Marsters as Gambit is EXCELLENT casting. He would nail that character, I think he would eventually rival Hugh Jackman's Wolverine in terms of popularity in the movie-verse.

I just read on dark horizons that David Anders auditioned for Angel and apparently nailed it and has a meeting with the director.

Anders is of coarse known for playing bad guy Julian Sark on the tv show Alias.
