I'm sort of torn on this movie after seeing the trailer. Torn on whether it's going to suck or not that is. However, I definitely want to see this. It looks like it could be a good time.

after watching the trailer for Cry Wolf i was just given the feeling of that it would end up being a very mundane and average slasher

as for any news on it, i havent heard anything about it for quite a while

I was interested in it until I read it was Pg-13, a PG-13 slasher flick, ugh, count me out!

I agree with that to an extent. The only problem is that if we take that approach, we won't be seeing too many horror films in the upcoming years. Let's face it. This PG-13 crap isn't just a blip on the radar, it's a trend, and a trend that will continue for quite some time from the looks of it.

I don't even bother watching PG-13 crap any more, they're all waterred down rubbish. Give me R Rated horror or don't give me horror at all.

The point is discovering if the murders are real or not...That's why it's PG-13. We don't see the actual killings...are they real...or not? That's the whole point of the movie.

Really, the teaster trailer showed some stabbing also images appered online of the killer stabbing someone, blood all over the mirror with her hand on the mirror covered in blood. Another image of a hand being found with some of it's fingers cut off.
I'd say murders are happened and it's PG-13 because they are greedy bastards.

It's a mystery to see who is the killer, but it's not PG-13 because it's a pure murder mystery. This is a slasher flick through and through, and I'm not seeing it basically because of the rating. There will be many off-screen cut away killings that just will ruin the effect. Fuck this shit.

I'll still see it. Not all movies have to be R to be good. But I think you guys are taking this stance because it's a slasher film, and hence, the blood and gore is needed. And if so, then I do see your point. However, I'm just itching to see a good slasher so I'm in for this one.

I'd say murders are happened and it's PG-13 because they are greedy bastards. The hand in the woods is of a girl who was killed before the movie starts, they create the killer based on her murder, the blood in the mirror is a kill the main characters imagine for their lie, later on the kills they imagine start happening....or are they?

I went to the official site tonight, and played the Cry Wolf game. It's an interesting play.

Looks like it should be going Straight To Video. Not interested at all, and thats coming from a guy who loves anything close to slasher flicks. I don't think i'll even wind up renting this one....

There's an article on Cry Wolf in the latest issue of Fangoria. It's pretty funny. The director talks about it as if it's the best film of all time. It looks like a drab slasher to me.

This is a suprisingly good movie that sadly sint going to get the respect it deserves becuase of mismarketing. Once again this si not a slasher film. It really more a mystery where the idea is trying to figure whats really going as the s tudents supposedly created the murder. It was all in a game but then things started getting real or maybe not. Im not going to spoil anyhting for. And the resons why ITS NOT A SLASHER FILM is becuase you never know whether these kills are real or not. Its surprisngly well-writted with likable lead characters and a decent romance. It leads to a great ending that while a bit derivative the final scene is absolutely chilling.

"Do you really think they would believe you?"

See the movie. Its better than one would expect. AND ITS NOT A SLASHER FILM.

I have been reading some really, REALLY bad things about this movie. I read if you have seen a slasher or two, you will guess the twists stright off.

I rather liked it even if i did see most fo the twists coming.

7/10. Its got good characters and got by on suspense and mystery rather then gobs of gore, but need abit more "ooph" in the long run.

Just got back from seeing it and I agree that if you go in expecting a slasher film like me you will be dissapointed. I figured out what was really going on rather early since other slashers have used that plot before. Overall I would give it about 2 1/2 stars out of 5. It defenantly had a direct to video feel to it but it was decent if you don't pay full price.

God this film so badly mismarketed as it was not really a slasher flick. Thats why it didnt need to be rated R. sagree. I agree that while it was a very cool concept I wish it was taken a little farther. I thought it was never fully realized as it could ahve been. On the other hand I really liked the plot I actually liked the performances especially by the two leads and i didnt mind the writing especially between Dodger and the lead man.

Also while the twists at the end were a bit derivative I still thought they were well done. I especially liked they did the last revelation. It was reaveled and then boom the movie ends.

By the way just as trvia the people who made that made this were first time filmakers that won a million dollars in a Project Greenlight like contest. Kind of sad that PG turned out two horrible films and suddenly these guys come along and make a good mystery.

7.5/10

I get tired of people who think the only good horror movies are Rated R. Pure bullshit that is. Did people forget about Poltergeist? Tourist Trap? Tremors? The Gate? Willard? I guess all those movies are just absolute shit because they aren't Rated R, huh?

Now when a movie was cut from an R rating to PG-13 to be made available to a bigger audience, that's a bad thing!

However, from the looks of things, Cry_Wolf was always intended to be PG-13. I admit the idea of a PG-13 slasher isn't appealing but as many have revealed so far, it's not a slasher movie. Looks like marketing was pulling a fast one over our eyes. They seem to be doing that a lot lately which I find to be a bad thing.

So before I pass judgement on the film, I'll wait to see it first which will probably be in the cheap show or on video. Either way.

I love this movie. I love the game. I love the whole thing. I would like to say that it is not a true slasher film. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it. One of my new favs.

If Halloween were released today for the first time, it'd be rated PG-13. Two brief tit shots, very minor language, and almost no gore.
