LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Ray Liotta, the ghost of Shoeless Joe Jackson in baseball fantasy "Field of Dreams," will star as an unfaithful husband trying to repair his broken marriage in an upcoming film comedy about love and football.

Rachel Blanchard, Glenne Headly and Shaun Sipos also have been cast in the indie film "Comeback Season," to be written and directed by Bruce McCulloch ("Stealing Harvard," "Superstar.")

"Comeback" follows a married man (Liotta) who, after cheating on his wife, moves in next door with the local high school football star (Sipos, "Final Destination 2") as they both try to win back the hearts of the women they love.

Headly, whose credits include "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" and "Mr. Holland's Opus," plays the wife; Blanchard ("Without a Paddle," "Road Trip," is the other female lead.

In addition to "Field of Dreams," Liotta's most notable film credits include "Something Wild" and "GoodFellas."

For "Comeback Season," Myriad Pictures will handle worldwide distribution rights, excluding Canada, where ThinkFilm is distributing.
