I just read this from joblo's news page.
What do you guys think of this idea? I think it's pretty cool that Jugg might be featured in the new film because a) he's one mean ass villain b) they can make his mayhem look amazing on screen c) an interesting sub plot with Prof X would be intriguing as he is his half brother.
Not sure about the casting. Jones is a badass but he doesnt fit the description.
What do you guys think of introducing this character in the classical way i.e. not really mutant powers but a magical suit + helmet? Will it hurt or enrich the story of X-Men on screen?

i think juggarnaut could be an awesome addition, but i agree with ya vinnie doesn't quite fit the description, yeah hes' a badass but he wont get the SIZE of juggarnaut across to the audience, i would say micheal duncan clarke cause he worked damn good as kingpin and manute, but we'll see

It can't be Duncan coz he's black and the character is Prof X's half brother.
I would suggest The Rock for the part. I'd like to see him play a baddie for once and he fits more than Jones. Plus he's badass :D

I would buy Vinnie Jones as Juggernaut only if they give him the Mr. Hyde treatment from League of Extraordinary Gentlemen or something similar to Hellboy.

It's fine with me if they use Vinnie's face and voice for the Juggernaut, but the body HAS to be CGI, a la HULK. The Juggernaut is way too big for human proportions. Either that, or there better be some badass forced perspective work going on. It seems that with all the action that is inevitable, that forced perspective would be too hard. I say CGI is the only way. Or perhaps Vinnie is the human version before he finds the ruby? His body may actually be a little big for that role. But seriously, the Juggernaut should be about the same size as the HULK.

Pretty much my thoughts as well.
Ever since I saw HULK back in '03, I thought that if Juggernaut was ever incorporated into the X-Men franchise, he would certainly have to be CGI. Juggernaut has always been portrayed as monolithic in size. Not much smaller than The Hulk, but almost equally as awesome in power.
Like Nacho said, use Vinnie's face, and voice.
Let CGI take care of the rest.
It should be fun to see if Wolverine stands toe to toe against Juggernaut in X3. Should look something like this. :D

I don't see why it should be GCI. The whole point of the X Men movies is taking the comic universe and making it... "real."
Hence, Wolverene isn't a hulking, ripped muscle-man, nor is Magnito.
I have no problem with this casting.

because then it wouldnt be juggernaut, it would be helmety the magic buff dude.

Why dont they just use Big Show or something?
As soon as I saw that picture, i thought to myself that Jugg would be a bad CGI character ala Hulk. I say find someone BIG.

Vinnie J is one of my favorite actors, so I'm all for him being one of my favorite all time villains. Plus it's just like badbird said it's about realistic reprsentation of the comic world. Either way I'm down for giving this a shot... Especially because I thought Stryker was a weak baddie for the last film.... So many good evil doers out there, and so little time to get them on the screen.

There are so many villians that they could bring in the third film. I myself wish that they bring in Gambit. Although Juggernaut is kool, and I would see it anyway but Gambit just rules all.

Ummm.....Gambit isn't a villain and besides there's a good chance he's in the third film.
Two of my favorite villains, Appocalypse and Mr. Sinister, are the ones I would want to see on the big screen.

You beat me to it. I know a lot of people will bemoan any suggested casting of a wrestler, but damn is Big Show one big dude. He's not going to win any Academy Awards or anything, but he can act.
He's been on Enterprise recently and he was just as good as anybody else. My brother and I have been discussing for months whether we'd rather see him as Juggernaut or the Rhino.

Look at that picture above and tell me if the Big Show would be big enough. He'd still only come up to about Juggernaut's nipple, and that's not good enough. Plus, he doesn't have the agility needed. The Hulk movie proved it could be done convincingly (perhaps it will look even better if there's a real face involved), so I still say CGI is the way to go. Like Heart Collector said, we don't want Helmety, The Magic Buff dude, who's just some guy that's stong. We want a mammoth of a man. And only CGI (or some really complicated camera work) could pull it off.

Juggernaut would probably look better CGI (if they did it right), but if Vinnie Jones is playing him I probably wouldn't even mind a live action version. However, I think Vinnie Jones would be awesome as Omega Red. Omega Red has to be in one of these movies.

Gambit isn't a villain
Gambit was a villian to start with in X-Men:Evolution cartoons.

I think if they did a character, like Juggernaut, CGI - they would hear all the crap that Ang Lee did for the Hulk. While I didn't mind Hulk as CGI, and probably wouldn't mind if Juggernaut was done that way, I don't think it's as necessary to make the big guy that way - he's big, but not as big as the big green guy. I don't think the filmmakers want to hear all the crap that Ang Lee did. I think Vinnie would be just fine as Juggernaut, myself.

I didn't mind the way the Hulk looked either but I can see why others did, however, I don't think Juggernaut would receive the same criticisms. The Hulk was big and green and fake in the midst of all real people, whereas Juggernaut would be big and fake in the midst of other fake people (the mutants). He wouldn't stand out nearly as much as the Hulk did. Also he probably wouldn't have as much screne time as the Hulk, unless the center the movie solely around Juggernaut (which I doubt).

This is from AICN.
**************
"Vinnie's X-rated Film Role"
"Tough guy Vinnie Jones is set to play a super-powered villain in X-men 3
The ex-footballer will play Hulk-style baddie Juggernaut in the movie. Vinnie, 40, will wear a four-stone latex suit to boost his muscles for the role - Juggernaut is 7ft tall and weighs 65st. He will star along side Sir Ian McKellen, Rebecca Romijn, Halle Berry and Hugh jackman.
Filming starts later this year. A source said: "Vinnie thinks it's a great laugh and can't wait to get into the suit."
****************
For those of you that don't know, a stone equals 14 pounds. So 65 stones would be 910 pounds. That sounds about right. But 7 feet tall? That's fucking ridiculous. If this is true, I think there going to use only a prosthetic suit, instead of a mixture of CGI, which I think would look better. Anything under 10 feet tall is ridiculous. He's supposed to have inhuman proportions. So how can a human play him without CGI or forced perspective? Look at that pic up there. One of his fingers is as big as Wolverine's hands. I'm pretty sure the filmmakers won't be preserving the proportions, if this is true, which is a disappointment.

Ditto on Big Show.
He wants to break into films, has got marquee value & they wouldn't need to CGI him as he would already dwarf the remainder of the cast.
Hell get Big Show to play the Hulk in any future films.
That CGI version was an abortion.

This is off subject for the moment but...
Halle Berry is going to be in the new X-Men movie? I thought she was pissed and was definately against being in the third film unless they upped her role. I guess they did.
My suggestion for Big Show still stands. I don't know. Vinne Jones can get the anger and the emotional rage that comes out of Jugg but his size still bothers me.
Anyway, Im happy that one of my favorite villains is actually going to be featured. I agree on Omega Red...he has to be put on screen soon, he's an amazing villain with a great original background and would look MAGNIFICENT on the big screen (the only problem is, he'd resemble Doc Ock with his abilities so they might be put off by that.)
I say bring in Mr. Sinister and his goons. My favorite cartoon episodes were with Sinister and his evil plans against the X-Men.
They could actually end the Phoenix Saga with the beginning of the Day of Appocalypse storyline and make a fourth movie with that and I'd be extremely happy.
Can't wait to hear what other villains will be featured in the new movie. It can't be just Jugg. He's good but his role is secondary.

What was wrong with the CGI Hulk? O_o
And as far as Juggs go, he should be CGI like Hulk, Vinne can do the voice and stuff if they wanted though.
Big Show? He should be Rhino. He's not buff enough to be Juggs, he has too much fat, but he's perfect for Rhino.

Worst. Idea. Ever.
Ok, I'm sure if we tried, we could come up with some worse ones, so I'll ammend that by saying, ...
Worst. Idea. So far.
