I'm constantly puzzled how there seems to be a complete lack of fans of the hard rock band Clutch. These guys are consistent as hell, producing some really great, stylish hard rock for years now. There's so much to like; the often hilarious and original lyrics, the very hard rockin' funkish music, Neil Fallon's awesome vocals, it goes on.

For the unitiated I highly suggest checking this band out, they've got a large and very awesome catalogue. I would highly suggest the albums "Pure Rock Fury" and last year's "Blast Tyrant", but check them all out. As far as individual songs, so many to recommend but I'll pick out a few:
- The Mob Goes Wild
- Elephant Riders
- Careful With That Mic
- Tight Like That
- Spacegrass
- Brazenhead
- Muchas Veces
- Pure Rock Fury
- Sinkemlow

I wouldn't call myself a fan of theirs but I saw them opening a gig for Therapy? some three years ago.

I saw them live here in AZ, got to hang with them afterwards with my band, it was pretty cool, we switched numbers and we're hoping to open up for them next time the come in.

They’re so down to earth, everybody in the club was cool as well, we could all be friends and shit, so I’m definitely looking forward for their next gig here in AZ.

And yes, "blast tyrants" is a great album, that’s my Halo 2 clan name. Hehehe

...

Though we haven’t played together in a LONG time.

Finally a few responses, guess there really aren't many fans.

That's really cool, Tai Mai, I really want to see Clutch live, I somehow doubt they'd ever get to my neck of the woods though.

Hell Yeah I'm a fan! Clutch is one of the most talented and versatile bands out there today, as well as being a great bunch of guys (I met them after a show in Austin once...they don't come down this way near enough).

As far as I know, these guys have never put out a bad album...some are better than others, but there is always something awesome on each album.

I posted a few threads like this a while back trying to find Clutch fans. I had no luck.

I'm glad some attention is being paid to the supreme achievement that is Blast Tyrant. Clutch has been my favorite band since their self-titled cd in 1994. I was a fan before but not until this cd did I truly understand Neil Fallon's amazing contribution to songwriting.

Blast Tyrant has been my favorite so far. Songs like Army of Bono and Ghost are perfect examples of how this band has grown and stayed the same simultaneously. La Curendera is excellent also with amazing timing changes and fabulous lyrics, referencing literature as do all of Fallons' ditties.

Who can deny the appeal of lyrics like:

'Please allow me to adjust my pants so that I can dance the good time dance...and put the onlookers and innocent bystanders into a trance...'

or

'Don't worry. It's just stigmata. Pass me a napkin and don't you dare tell my mother'

I never miss them when they tour. Last year I saw them while 8 and a hlf months pregnant. As always, they were very gracious and allowed me a special seat alongside their merchandise booth. Ha.

Glad to see finally see some responses.

Yeah, I really like Blast Tyrant. I don't know if its their best but its definetely up there. The whole album is fantastic from start to finish, and it flows together really well.

(as was the case with Turbo Negro and H.I.M... loved CKY the band long before CKY the dvd's)... so def plan on checking out some of their cd's once i get the cash!
