I've been reading posts all over this board, and everyone puts Requiem for a Dream on their favourite movie/scene/line/actor/actress/performance/trailer/etc.

I saw the movie, and while I did find the ending to be interesting, the first 80 minutes were pretty standard, not exactly entertaining or heart-wrenching.

An average film with a powerful ending, really. Thought Pi was better.

I thought the whole film sucked. Unconvincing characterizations and an overreliance on cutesy camera and editing techniques. Jennifer was good (she always is), and I enjoyed the small role from the great Keith David, but I really didn't give a rat's ass about anybody else in the whole thing. I liked Pi much better.

This is my favourite film of all time...it has characters we can sympathize with, incredible acting abilities, some great cuts, cinematography and direction, and a fantastic, heart-wrenching and brilliant script. It was a powerful, memorable experience that I think about at least once everyday. A+
