This third sequel to the original carries on the off kilter Frankenstein personality from the third, Son of Frankenstein, keeping along Ygor (Bela Lugosi) for the ride. The plot is likely the weakest of the group, still managing to be entertaining, but obviously slightly forced and not without holes. Instead of focusing more on the monster this time around, the plot circulates more around Ygor's demented revenge and his utilization of the creature. What turns out happening is an ironic surprise and the ending, as with all of these, isn't always a happy note.
This movie has several flaws and was obviously tossed together to keep cashing in on the film's name. One of the glaringly obvious errors is how Ygor is back since he was killed in the last one? Lon Chaney Jr. is the monster this time around, and while he's good, it's not the same without Karloff.
