Man-Thing premiers tonight! Sci-Fi @ 9 PM EST. I've been looking forward to this one for a while. I'm definitly going to get the DVD when it comes out. The only movies I've looked forward to more are the Spider-Man movies.

i'll be watching it too.

i just cannot believe that a movie can go from being released in theaters to then switching and premiering on the sci-fi channel. that may say something about the film itself....and i also have read nothing be negative about the movie. but i shall watch and see for myself.

well keep in mind that since it's on TV it's hacked to peices. I'll make final judgement after watching the DVD.

I only watched the opening and ending of the SCI-FI version of Man-Thing and it's edited like hell. Missing is gore, female nuidty and a cool death scene. The unedited version is fun times but the SCI-FI version was water downed fun times. Bummer.

it was definetly watered down (so obvious)...

but wow, i enjoyed this one...pretty damn fun and entertaining. sure, if you go into this expecting a mindblowing story with great characters and emotional rollercoaster writing involved, you will be disappointed, but go into this one like i did, with no expectations besides thinking it could be a fun watch, and you'll get just that. It had a VERY old school feel to the film for me, which is a damn good thing...don't know why but it sure did.

Add this with the fact that I didn't even see the real version (with no waterdowns due to TV) and i'm definetly going to pick this one up when its released (by the way, anybody know when this is coming out to dvd?).

I approve- Bottom Line.

5/10

I was pressed for time , so i was just channel surfing when this came on . I only caught a couple of minutes of it total , but it looked good enough to warrant a full uncut viewing . The lead character seemed interesting , and the acting was of a higher quality than i expected except for the cliched bad guys , in fact , for a low budget film , the quality is high overall , this isn't sub rosa, shot on video territory , although some of those can be entertaining , this looks good so far , i will have to see the whole film to really make a decision .

well, as its been said...this was intended for theatrical release, so they were aiming for something good, it just obviously didn't impress the right people. it doesn't seem like the type of movie that would rake in good cash though so its not the worst decision, but then again i haven't seen the full uncut version, just the tv version, which obviously still impressed me.

If this is the movie based on the Marvel comic I read an interview with Avi Arad in Wizard that said they scrapped the theatrical release because there wasn't a Marvel represenative on the set and the filmakers did some thing they didn't agree with.

As far as the movie goes I think I'll wait until the DVD release and give it a rent.
