...has opened this weekend.
You'll read a lot of bad reviews of Paul Schrader's version of the Exorcist prequel.
Ignore them. Listen to Roger Ebert.
I saw the film, and I can't tell you how moved and impressed i am. True, the supernatural shocks aren't plentiful, but there were a few moments of fear and shock throughout the film (particularly a dream sequence).
This movie dares you to think about normal human everyday evil, and what you're capable of, instead of blaming the devil for everything. You leave the theater thoroughly disturbed (as opposed to laughing your ass off at the sight of a crusty faced toad-woman dry humping a priest).
Please go see it. It's going to get killed by Episode III (I think this was on purpose).
