The May issue of MOVIELINE has a piece highlighting the Mag's choices for Top 10 "original" actresses UNDER 30:
(The list is in no particular order, so, I'm listing them in descending order of my preference)

10)Michelle Rodriguez
9)Kate Hudson
8)Angelina Jolie
7)Brittany Murphy
6)Kate Winslet
5)Kirsten Dunst
4)Reese Witherspoon
3)Christina Ricci
2)Scarlett Johansson
1)Thora Birch

A pretty well balanced list.I love seeing Thora and Scarlett getting their just respects. But the choice of Rodriguez pisses me the fuck off! She is a third rate hack who should be doing dinner theater at the Burt Convy pavillion. The girl has ZERO fuckin' talent.

So, here is MY list. In descending preferential order:

10)Sarah Polley
9)Fairuza Balk
8)Natasha Lyonne
7)Kirsten Dunst
6)Chloe Se7igny
5)Natalie Portman
4)Reese Witherspoon
3)Christina Ricci
2)Scarlett Johansson
1)Thora Birch

Now, that's much better.

Yeah, Michelle Rodriguez is different alright. Different in the way that she likes to storm in on neighbors and assault them.

Other than that it's a pretty good list. Like you, I would add Sarah Polley to it.

My thoughts exactly; I guess since she's best known for her TV work ("Buffy" and "All My Children"), she gets cast off the movie mag list.

Here's my list:
1. Sarah Michelle Gellar
2. Natalie Portman
3. Kirsten Dunst
4. Angelina Jolie
5. Kate Winslet
6. Christina Ricci
7. Reese Witherspoon
8. Sarah Polley
9. Thora Birch
10. Scarlett Johansson

Well...if this listed Top 10 "cross eyed, needle nosed, squeaky voiced, Freddie Prinze banging, zero talent bimbos under 30" then Gellar would have been Number ONE....
But it's "Most original actresses under 30", so Gellar's sorry ass is rightfully excluded.

10)Michelle Rodriguez: uh don't think so... sarah michelle gellar should be in her place!
9)Kate Hudson: awesome... hold me closer tiny dancer...count the headlights on the high way...haha
8)Angelina Jolie: yeah....good...not great
7)Brittany Murphy: best thing about riding in cars with boys and don't say a word
6)Kate Winslet: great actress
5)Kirsten Dunst: awesome, so underrated
4)Reese Witherspoon: awesome, goes from the up-tight tracy flick in election, to miss california in legally blonde.
3)Christina Ricci: talent is fading...
2)Scarlett Johansson: bright future
1)Thora Birch: excellant actress

What the motherfucking fuck? Michelle Rodriguez? Not only can she not act to save her life, but what is so original about her? She rips off of Aliens' Vasquez in every role she plays.

The rest look good to me, especially Thora Birch, who indeed deserves the #1 spot. I'm glad to see Scarlett Johansson got some recognition, too.
