Check it out (Prophecy sequels):

Looks...well, the trailer actually didn't excite me at all, but the flicks might still be decent, right?
As for the Hellraiser sequels, I'll pick Hellworld up for Lance Henriksen. See the trailer here:

Enjoy, bitches!

I'm absolutley there for the Hellraiser sequels, but since Walken left the Prophecy sequels, I left that as well. Hellseeker turned out pretty decent, and the trailer for the next too look to be just that, pretty decent. Again,I'm on board for the Hellraiser sequels, but probably not the prophecy ones.

Yeah, I will miss Walken, but that shot of tentacles (or whatever) shooting from that guys mouth was intriguing.

I'm impressed by the Hellraiser trailers. They look cheesily promising, especially Deader. But hey, I'm a huge Hellraiser fan (or, a huge Hellraiser: Inferno fan).
I didn't like Pinhead going "Welcome to hell." again, it's getting old. It worked wonders in Inferno (what a great movie) but we need to move on. I might just rent these.

I've got some hopes, but I've been let down by trailers before.
Well, I wrote a script that was just commissioned that's a prequel to Hellraiser, called Hellraiser 0.
It's all about Elliot Spencer, as a child growing up, falling in love, joining the army, and becoming a Captain. It was while in the service, he found the "Box", and started delving into the occult. Mind you, that's only really that last 10min or so. The majority of the movie, is really a love and life story, about Elliot Spencer, his family, and the love of his life. It's, I'd say, 80% drama, 15% love story, and about 5% horror. I thought the series needed some solid back story, so thanks to some help from Clive Barker, I dove in, and ripped out the script in no time flat. It was picked up by Dreamworks, and goes into production next summer, for a projected 2007 Christmas release. As of right now, Ben Affleck has shown interest in playing Elliot Spencer, but nothing is in stone.

Did you notice that the covers for all of the DTV Hellraiser movies have said something like "The Most Terrifying Chapter Yet!"

I've only seen the first two, which I though were really great. I haven't seen the 3rd because netflix doesnt have it, and have it on their saved list with a unknown release date. The 4th...yeah I sadly saw that one. I haven't saw Inferno or Hellseeker yet, but after seeing that trailer it did spark my interest to finish off the series even after the horrible Space one.
As for the Prophecy ones I have then in my queue list to rent but haven't done so. I'll probably at least check the first one out here soon.

But that's a shitty cover, what the hell is "Burning With Evil" supposed to mean?

Well, I just saw Deader, and I still don't know what the fuck was going on. It definitely requires another viewing.

Why? What was confusing about it? Was there something wrong with the script?

The only thing confusing about "Hellraiser : Deader" is the fact that it even got released at all.
Just watched this a couple of nights ago and dear God, I want that time back. I just kept watching hoping that it would get better towards the end, or have a slam-bang twist finale, but no. One word : Generic. In fact, two words : "Generic" and "Boring".
Kari Wuhrer does a nice job with what she has (am I the only one who thinks she shouldn't have gotten rid of her boob job?!?), but it's all in vain. The main storyline is muddled and film is filled with so many convoluted "ooooh, this is weeeiiirrrd" hallucination (or are they?) scenes that we've seen a million times, and done a million times better in films such as "Hellraiser : Inferno" and "Jacob's Ladder".
Now I've got Prophecy : Uprising to watch and it will probably be the decider on whether I EVER watch another movie with Kari Wuhrer in it.
As for the Hellraiser series, I'll still watch "Hellworld" as I have a soft spot for Lance Henriksen. But believe me, I'll be shocked if it's worse than "Deader".

She's still a beautiful lady, in my estimation. She might have had the implants removed for medical reasons. Besides, her ta-ta's aren't teeny-weeny (see King of the Ants).

My problem with Deader -- and this is after a single viewing -- is that I'm not sure what the villain, Winter, is trying to accomplish. He apparently needs Kari Wuhrer to open the box (only 'chosen ones' with a dark past can open it... what!?), and yet he's seriously freaked out when Pinhead and Co. show up. Someone explained to me the Deaders were homemade Cenobites, which might work considering one of Pinhead's lines about "finishing the job," but I need to see it again.
I will say this about the film: it's the first sequel to really get a "Jesus wept" like killing right.

For the minuscule budget and 25-day shooting schedule I didn’t think Deader was that bad. It is no masterpiece but for a part seven of a franchise it is passable. The fact it still takes the concept seriously with little humor is a welcome sight. Like on Hellseeker Director Rick Bota has an eye for visuals. The make-up was impressive in spots. Other times the buget showed though. The bathroom scene was well filmed. I was also peeved by the “everything a dream” sequences. Whenever Kari would get in trouble the story would wake her up in the nick of time similar to the Carnival of Souls remake. They sure packed the DVD with extras. You would think it was a classic film or something. It’s early but I like it better then Hell on Earth and Bloodline.

So Dimension`s new straight-to-video "Hellraiser" movie stinks, huh?
Gee. What a shocker.
They should`ve called it "Hellraiser: Crapper".

Actually Elgyn, it wasn't that bad at all.
I actually liked it a lot. It has a very surreal atmosphere/plot, disturbing imagery, and Kari Wurher just sells the living hell out of it with her performance. Plus, the way it was shot, you'd think it was a theatrical film. Rick Bota has improved greatly since Hellseeker.
For those of you who are confused about the movie:
The idea is that Winter is a descendant of Philip LeMerchant and he wants to take the box back for his own purposes. He wants pleasure over pain but he wants to defy what the Lament Configuration has become, a gateway to Hell. So, he begins to use the box to defy death so his followers can be homemade Centobites that live in the real world. However, some of them are starting to regret their decision and just want to die now but only a "chosen one" can stop it. So, Marla finds a way to bring a "chosen one" to them to stop it all. A "chosen one" is someone who opens the box and has a very dark past that makes them a candidate for becoming a Deader. Since Amy meets the criteria, Marla finds a way to bring her to Romania. However, Winter wants to use the "chosen one" to complete the Deader's trip into a world of ultimate pleasure. However, what Winter doesn't realize is that once Amy opened the box, Pinhead is contacting her and telling her to bring the Deaders to him because they have no right to meddle in his territory. So, in order to stop Winter, Amy opens the box again at the end to defeat Winter and then takes her life so Pinhead can't claim her or the other Deaders.
The first viewing, I was confused. I mean, I followed everything but I missed one or two details along the way. But that's what I liked about this one, is that it requires a second viewing. The movie itself is a puzzle that can be solved with additional viewings. It also makes it that more intelligent of a movie.
My one qualm with the movie (and I know I'll catch big flak for saying this) is that it didn't need Pinhead at all. He felt unneccessary and really weighed down the movie at times. I know they had to use him for the Pinhead hungry fans but they should have found a more inventive way to use his presence this time around. He just feels like he was slapped in for good measure to the please fans.
Also, the coverart does this movie no justice. They should have given it more of an occult/gritty/gothic look, like something out of Silent Hill. Well, I guess I'll just have to make my own. Plus, it figures they'd give this decent Hellraiser sequel a shitty cover but give the shitty new Prophecy movies decent coverarts. Like the night manager said to me, he wished the day manager would have ordered a few more copies of Deader rather than Prophecy: Uprising (They only have one copy of Deader and three copies of Prophecy: Uprising).
