AWESOME.
I'd buy it in a second.
But you see the book with Tim Robbins taking in the rain on the cover? That's a BFI Classics book that I already own and have already read so errrr...

It's all very nice, but it can't touch that Alien packaging from Japan that was posted last year or so....

Damn....I wish we had some real sick packaging like some of the DVDs from Japan.

That is most certainly one of the coolest DVD releases I have ever seen. I may seriously consider importing this as it is one of my absolute favorite films of all-time.
However, it raises an interesting question.
I thought that in a majority of Japanese households that storage space was at a premium? I certainly don't mean to be stereotypical, but I have heard that time and time again. Heck, it is mentioned as one of the reasons that the gigantic Xbox never sold well there. If that is indeed true, then why do they get the biggest, baddest, sometimes unecessarily big, DVD packages?
Or perhaps the answer is right in front of me. Maybe the reason they are strapped for space is because they have countless awe-insipring DVD cases littering their homes.
Now it all makes sense.

Very impressive. It would be cool if this type of thing were done more often for collectors... :D
I will say though, that I like whatever DVDs I buy to fit on my movie rack.

I hate all packaging that doesn't end with a spine. I want the packaging to look great, but I don't want a distraction. And aren't those DVD's steep price because of the packaging?
Anyways, does anyone know where I can order those BFI Classic books without having overseas shippin?

The packaging i hate the most are the ones like the Scarface S.E., or the Showgirls S.E. where its just one huge box. If you are going make a boxset put some creativity into it at the very least. For the most part I have to agree with Tayzlor, I need a spine otherwise it just seems to throw everything out of wack.

That Transformer set is pretty sweet! The link to buy it is listed right there on the images. Looks like it's on sale to at $149 (from $299). Anyone have any idea what region this is (av-express makes no mention of it, but I'm guessing not R1)?

if it's a japanese release it's PAL R2.
i think the evil dead is the coolest. but really i just like well designed normal packaging. i thought the raging bull SE was tops.
There were Lenticulars, Tins and Steelbooks thread in here. Might as well revive this thread for packaging.
