I bought Star Trek: Insurrection when it came out at my local Wal-Mart. Disc one was all scratched up. I ended up having to do 2 exchanges to get it right.

After that the movie disappeared. I was curious and asked, they said they never received the DVD. I kid you not. Twilight Zone time. The guy was looking at his release sheet. The slot/bin/pocket where the movie was, was empty, but it still read: ST-INSURRECTION. There are two local Wal-Marts where I live. Yeah, two. Anyhow, both stores don't have anymore. I was there today. Freaky.

Was there a recall I'm not aware of? Or something else?

i know wal-mart managers are pretty shady, so i wouldn't doubt something wrong happened, ask around

Strange, I just saw it on shelves the other day.

The exact same thing happened to Star Trek Generations. It showed up on shelves, then was yanked right away. I never even saw it, but some people did manage to get a copy. The movie reappeared a few weeks later.

What happened? For STG - the DVD listed "Trailers" under special features, but they were nowhere on the disc. Oops. Somebody goofed. The new version of the DVD box makes no listing of trailers on it.

Something similar might have happened to Insurection, if so, I'm kickin my ass for not buying it. You could be sitting on a genuine collector's item there buddy.
