as mike tracks down one of his distant relatives, the relative at the same time, along with a group of friends summon candyman. mike attracks candymans attention by killing off some of the friends and candyman tries to finish off the group survivors,as well as mike meyers. the police think they are looking for one suspect but mikes relative knows better.
anybody think this makes any sense or should their storyline be much deeper?

This explanation is actually pretty good. I like it. It shouldn't be made but good plot.

Definitely wouldn't work. They're way too different.

I'm not 100% keyed in on the Candyman series but doesn't Candyman only appear to those who say it in the mirror?
Meaning that for Myers to meet him, wouldn't he have to do the same?

As we've all seen, it'll take alot more than that to take ol' Mikey down :D

Look at it this way: Candyman is technicaly undead i.e its bloody hard to kill him. Micheal Myres is (in the words of Dorian Gray) Complicated. They could fight for days and neither would get the upper hand, the film makers would have to think up a feasable way for either to win without the whole thing seeming utterly crap (although idea of the film going ahead would be crap anyways). Just my 2 cents :)

I dunno...its hard to say he's undead because he wasnt killed then resurrected (like Candyman), but he was always just kinda...there. Thats really just a technicality though.
**SPOILERS**(for AvP and Freddy vs. Jason)
You could really kinda say that Jason won, as you dont see Freddy walking away with his head but truly neither won and neither were supposed to, its not like boxing or anything, just a mashup between two horror icons. Kinda like AvP with neither side were going to win (obviously since there isnt only one pred and one xenomorph)...but thats a whole different thing with me because of that stupid "Whoever wins, we lose" line as WE are the ones that win...
I dont disagree that it makes sense, it does but to be honest I wouldnt be thrilled for these two in the same movie.

I'm not really one for versus movies...but I think The Blair Witch vs. The Mothman would be the crappiest movie (as you see neither both)

who gets shot in both eyes and lives to talk about it. nobody but richard pryor(god bless him) gets set on fire and makes another movie. therefore i think mike is very undead.

What the . . .
I've only seen the first, but isn't "Candyman" a ghost? How the hell do you kill a ghost (when, you know, the Ghostbusters are out of town)?

virginia madsen and those other two girls merked him off why not mike? freddy is a ghost too and he manages to end up in the real world a film or two.

But try to remember the ending to Candyman (again, didn't see the others), it wouldn't work if he faced someone like Michael Myers.

i dont have all the answers but i like my plot. maybe i should do some research and revise my plot and then maybe hollywood will give me a call.:)
Candyman's only problem is he's always falling in love with some reasonable facsimile of the chick who got him slaughtered when he was still a human. The only times he's ever "lost" were pretty much out of heartbreak, which is pretty pussy of him, but at the same time I doubt Mike is going to have that same effect on him. Mike, meanwhile, although nearly invincible, isn't a ghost. Advantage, Candyman. But in my opinion, the plot to bring these two together and have beef enough to fight with each other would have to be more contrived than the one that brought Freddy & Jason together.

Candyman is a pussy and just plain not scary. Michael is kick ass and he has his moments. When people think of boogeyman who do they think of, oh yeah Michael. People barely even know Candyman cause he's a little bitch

.......coulda sworn Candyman was from the south. course, its been a while since ive seen the original, so i could be wrong.
but in any case, no, the whole "relatives" thing wouldnt work. it would pretty much be like any other shitty sequal that they have made for Halloween that featured "oh look, another Myers relative, guess his work isnt done after all is it?" how about throwing a rapper into the mix too? and someone for some comedy relief?
heres a tagline for your move:
"whoever wins, no one will give a shit."

Very true. Both Jason and Freddy had strong fanbases (this is what allowed Freddy vs. Jason to be successful). But while Mikey is/was reasonably popular, Candyman's following falls pretty short of rabid. Find another (more popular) horror icon, retool the story and then maybe you'll have something of value.
But even then you'll have plenty of people disgusted that anyone out there is still considering creating another "Vs." film (especially a horror one).
