Based on the novel by Claire Cook, MUST LOVE DOGS stars Oscar-nominated Diane Lane as Sarah Nolan, a newly divorced woman cautiously rediscovering romance with the enthusiastic but often misguided help of her well-meaning family. Elizabeth Perkins stars as one of Sarah's incorrigible matchmaking siblings who do everything they can to energize her love life, including posting a personal ad for her with an online dating service; while John Cusack and Dermot Mulroney star as two hot prospects who might just prove too good to be true. As she braves a series of hilariously disastrous mismatches and first dates, Sarah begins to trust her own instincts again and learns that, no matter what, it's never a good idea to give up on love. MUST LOVE DOGS also stars Christopher Plummer as Sarah's widowed Dad, who has recently launched his own search for a soul mate with surprisingly successful results, and Stockard Channing, as one of his free-spirited dates who likes to keep several online personalities in circulation.

I saw this attached w/ BEWITCHED and me likey! Diane Lane is STILL uber HOT!!!! The set up looks good, the cast looks intresting, its Gary David Goldberg soooo thats a definate plus and I dunno about the title of the movie but I can overlook that...

Sooooo is Lane gonna settle for Mr. RIght (Cusack) or Mr. Right Now (Mulroney)........ DISCUSS

I'm in love Diane Lane. I'll see anything with her. Oh and John Cusack is no slouch himself. He's always cool. And then there is Christopher Plummer as Lane's dad and a cute trailer and I'm sold. I'll definately watch this.

I'm a sucker for romantic comedies, but they always end up the same anyway you look at it. I'm not expecting much, though. Just a nice, forgettable little movie. Plus, Lane and Cusack are two of the most underrated actors in the business.

Funny thing. Dunno how my mom mananged to see an ad for this, but one day she tells me she either wants to see that Hilary Duff movie (Meaning The Perfect Man) or that new Diane Lane movie (meaning this one). So, naturally i'm like dont fucking bother with that Hilary Duff shit, go see Must Love Dogs, because John Cusack is the shit. Just wanted to share that, dunno why. But anyway, I probably wont see this until it hits TBS in 2-3 years.

Diane Lane & John Cusack in "MUST LOVE DOGS"
Saw a trailer for this last night. It looks excellent - quirky and funny without being TOO chick flick. I've also heard good things on the web about it.

Diane Lane is SO hot and a great actress and John Cusack is the man when it comes to quirky comedies. Love both these actors and looking forward to it immensely. I think it comes out on July 29th.

What do you guys think of the film?

Yeah - I've never seen a movie with John Cusack in it that I didn't like. This will be a nice end of July treat.

What's happened to Cusack? What's with all the romantic comedies? He looks like the best thing in this! I'm sorry, but I'm in a bit of a romantic comedies hating period. He should have learned from America's Sweethearts. And Serendipity. Ah well, back to my Grosse Point Blank DVD.

And Serendipity.

If this movie is even half as good as Serendipity then I'm going to love it. I'm not a romantic comedy guy but I loved Serendipity!

I liked Serendipity - it was a nice little film - but it wasn't the best. This looks way better.

Glad to hear you say that-- I often think Diane Lane is underrated, but I have NEVER heard anyone ever say it without me initiating the conversation. She is talented and beautiful-- but not recognized enough...

As for Cusack, I wouldn't call him underrated-- he is well respected in the business and will remain so.

I agree DIANE LANE is very underrated and sadly very obscure. She should be, with her talent and beauty, up there with the big stars.

Anyway, here are some more positive reviews for "MUST LOVE DOGS":
