I think this looks like it will be a solid effort. I am a big fan of Jim Jarsmuch and I will probably try and catch this if it hits any cinemas near me.

I've heard it's a more mainstream Jarmusch film. That being said, I'm interested in seeing this, but what's the deal with recent Bill Murray movies involving him looking for a son (like Life Aquatic)?

Oh, god I hope this isn't anywhere near as bad as The Life Aquatic. I saw the trailer and it looks alright. Nothing great but that doesn't mean the movie can't be great. Just that the trailer isn't. I do still have hopes for this movie.

Have you seen any of Jim Jarmusch's prior films?

Nope. But I did kinda want to see Dead Man. Not sure about Ghost Dog. It looked kind of amusing and kind of dumb to me. But I'll probably check both of them out sometime soon.

Ghost Dog is probably his most lightweight, comical film. It's amusing just to see Italian mobsters doing hip-hop raps.
Dead Man is rife with interpretations and stuff. I'm not even sure I understood it, but I loved it.

Just saw the trailer the other day and it looked very interesting. I'm impressed with Bill Murray's choice of roles and films lately - here's hoping this movie doesn't disappointment. I doubt it will.
Oh yeah, I'm not familiar at all with Jim Jarmusch. When I see this movie, it'll be the first time I've seen a movie of his.

I wonder when Bill will stop looking for an Oscar and come out with another movie like Groundhog Day? I'm just not a big fan of serious Bill Murray or now that I think about it, recent Bill Murray. I wish he'd go back to the stuff he made in the 80's. As for Jim Jarmusch, I've never seen any of his stuff but he sounds kinda pretentious. I doubt I'll rent this movie, unless by some miracle the trailer appeals to me.

Oddly enough, he should have been nominated for an Oscar with that role.
This movie looks fine. I love the trailer, I love Jarmusch, and I love Murray.

If the buzz is correct, Murray might be getting another Best Actor nomination for this role. But, who knows how crowded that race will be as the year winds to a close.

Oh, I hope so. I don't know though, the movie has the potential to be that movie where its "nomination is its award" like w/ LIT and Sideways where both movies opened early for the Oscar season and had the critics carry them to February. I think this will be a breakthrough for Jarmusch.

I can not wait to see this film. It has been one of my most anticipated movies of the year for some time now and from the trailer it looks very promising.
Jarmusch is becoming one of my favorite directors... his style is absolutely amazing. He has yet to leave me unimpressed and I doubt this will be any different.

Although I am a huge fan of Sean Penn, I really saw Bill Murray winning in 2003 for Lost In Translation.

It's such a subtle performance, no wonder he lost. I think most people thought he was playing himself, but he was playing a defeated version of himself. He was the clown with a hint of sadness underneath.
