Hey you guys I jus t thought I would relate an expereince I had yesterday. Being on vacation I decided to rent three really abd films jus t to see how bad they were. They were White Noise, Boogeyman, and Darkness.

My God never will I do something a s silly again. I love MSTK3 and boy these films made several scenes that could easily be ripped apart. Sadly I think I aged a few days watching these truly wretched films. Have you guys seen these terrible film? Here are some of my favorite bad things from the film:

Darkness: Why the Hell was the camera seemingly on a washing machine the last 20 minutes. I guess the director thought if we couldnt tell what was going on it would be suspenseful. Right.

White Noise: How the Hell did anyone think that a film that consists of a man staring at a screen for half the film would be thrilling?

Boogeyman: Wow Ive seen a lot of lame endings but wow. I understand the metaphoirs of the ending but what the ending really consists of is the main character defeating Boogeyman by kicking him in the face. Yikes. Watch the featuretter where they espouse how ground-breaking the film is.

I just wanted to wanr other people of these decript films/

Right-o on all counts, especially DARKNESS; it's like the director said, "Fuck it, I'm getting a sandwich" and let the movie careen out of control towards the credits

But even funnier is watching ALONE IN THE DARK, then watching the "making of" documentary on the DVD where cast and crew talk about how atmospheric and absolutely scary the movie they're making is. Gee, I wish I coulda seen that instead of the shabbily-made piece of crap I sat through. Where's this awesome ALONE IN THE DARK they were talking about?

lol I remeber watching that featurette. I always got the feeling during the featurette that once the camera cut off the actors just started laughing hysterically

Whats funny is that at the most basic levels all of the them had basic ideas. In White Noise EVP and the fact that over half of the messages are considered hostile is an interesting idea. The entity of The Darkness at its most basic level is also interesting. Finally Boogeyman before watching it I had good memories of a very short and great Stephne king story called "The Boogeyman".

Sadly what happened between the interesting idea and the film was a mess.

Boogeyman (2/10) and Darkness (3/10) are two of the most awful movies of the past year. Boogeyman insulted me as a horror fan, relying on bogus scares that came out of nowhere. Darkness was just plain shitty with stupid idea followed by stupid idea. Surprisingly, I've had enough sense to stay far away from white noise....

I watched DARKNESS expecting a genuinely scary movie for once and although I didn't have high expectations for BOOGEYMAN, I decided to watch it anyways thinking it would be something great to laugh it.......

I felt the need to dump acid over my head to get those movies out of my mind after seeing them:
Darkness - 0.5/5
Boogeyman - 0/5

Two of the WORST horror films in recent memory, the former actually had a good premise but was ruined by bad acting (not even Anna Paquin could save this) and was completely devoid of any scares or suspense, and the latter was ludicrous right from the start (and not even in a way that I could laugh it), I saw it in the theatre and lost count of how many cheap "jump" scares they were and how many times the idiotic teenage girls screamed at them for no apparent reason other than to cause mass hysteria in the theatre.

Darkness UNRATED was the best of the lot.

Darkness UNRATED: 6/10
White Noise: 5/10
Boogeyman: 3/10

I think there's just a few minutes' worth of difference between the unrated and PG-13 cuts of DARKNESS. I've only seen the PG-13 one, but I hear the unrated cut sucks ass too, so maybe the studio's just playing up some empty minutes.

I can imagine it would be awkward for the trailer voice guy having to say, "DARKNESS: The Unrated Cut -- Now with even more crap than what you saw at the theater!"

Ironically, my sister and friends were watching Boogeyman the other night, and I had prior arrangements, so I missed out. Heh, not much, based on the vitriolic reaction.
