My question to you all is this.

Ever since he's been jumping on couches and knocking psychiatry in interviews over the past few weeks, do you like Tom Cruise LESS or MORE as a personality (not as an actor)?

I'm not asking if you still like him as an actor or not-- that's not the question. I want to know if you like him LESS or MORE as a public person over the past month or so.

Thanks.

How about a third category?

DON'T CARE EITHER WAY

Not trying to come across as flippant but that's exactly how I feel. I could care less about what he does in his personal life and what he says as a public speaker. I wish more people could learn not to hang on his every word. Nobody said that actors are the authorities on shit besides acting.

His behavior (as played up by the media) was annoying, but I think it's simply that: media blitz. Has he played into it? Probably, but I still think he's a decent enough person. I agree with Mr-Blonde, his personal behavior shouldn't reflect his acting roles.

I'd say "like him more"

I voted less based on the fact that if I saw anyone act like that in 'real' society (not the fairytale land of Hollywood) I would think him/her to be a complete douchebag.

How does the water squirting incident make it his fault? He was on the receiving end, not doing it.

I like him more. He's one of the most likable assholes ever on Earth.

I think this whole entire whirlwind is good for laughs, so he either a) had a good future in comedy, b) has a good sense of humor, c) just voicing his funny out there opinions. So as long as this crazy shit gives me amusement, I'm liking Mr. Curise more.

The way he handled the squirt gun made me respect him more but he lost that with the embarrassing Today Show interview. That and it was a pretty asshole thing of him to call Brooke Shields irresponsible unless he's been through what she went through, and I don't think he has. And when he told Access Hollywood look where her career has gone, as if that just because she's not as huge a movie star as he is that makes her less successful! That was incredibly arrogant of him to say. He was definately an ass for saying that.

Dont forget, hes studied up on this stuff!

See, your problem is that, well, your glib.

I'm sorry to say that this whole thing has made me like Tom Cruise a lot less as a person. But it doesn't change the fact that I think he's a pretty good actor who's been in some great movies.

Why would you like a guy less just because he goes a little crazy for love? The man is a fool in love and all this will pass.

The Gerneral public must not care considering WOTW got almost 80 million opening weekend.

I like him the same, all I care about is his acting in the movie I'm watching.

I believe the media stepped it up a lot once they caught wiff that Tom's personal life is a story now so they ran with it. It seemed like once he did the oprah thing, the questions were asked which lead to more Cruise is crazy talk. Seems like it's media vs. Tom now. hmmm
my two cents

I'm with Mr. Blonde, I just don't care. I think his last three movies have kicked major ass - including War of the Worlds - so his personal life and extra curricular activities involving furniture on talk shows don't interest me at all.

My wife is bipolar. Tell Tom to stop by my house and explain to her that there are no such things as chemical imbalances. You know, because he knows about and has studied Psychiatry you Glib fools.

Oh yeah by the way, was never a big fan of his. Let's name the movies he actually acted in and didn't play Tom Cruise:

Magnolia.

Days of Thunders own Cole Trickle?

Don't think so.

Short list as you see.

I like the same, really. My opinion of him hasn't went done. His recent craziness is his business, and doesn't bother me as much as it does other folks, I guess.

Less.

He was starting to get on my nerves, though the media really overplayed this whole thing. All celebrities are wackos, not just Tom Cruise.

Then I saw War of the Worlds and thought "Oh, yeah. This guy is an ACTOR." And he's a pretty good one. I'd say I like him the same.

And with that, I'll plug my own website.

The Crazy Cruise is way cooler than the old Cruise.

I love him.

I think his performing would be a more relevant issue seen as though that's his job and that's what he's here to do for us. I have no questions or quibbles about his lifestyle. And I've never had anything against the lad, he's made some decent films and hasn't ever gotten on my nerves. I don't see the big dealio with Tom thumb.

He only acted respectfully cause he knew that there are hundreds of cameras around him so he didnt want to swear and punch the guy to protect his image.
If this happened in the street without the papparazzi around, the prankster would get a black eye

I never really did understand the hate for Tom Cruise. It just seems that some people just try and find reasons to hate Cruise, which I don't understand. I've never hated Cruise, in fact, I consider him one of my favorite actors.

LESS. I swear the guy's crack'n. He's irritating. And he and Holmes are turning into the next Afleck and Lopez. Over-exposure.

AwesomeJ33

You may find this hard to believe, but the underlying hate I have for him has to do with his height and Hollywoods trickery making him look taller. He's freaking 5 foot 6 yet he's made out to be 6 somethin.

Don't insult my intelligence. He's midget freak.

Used to hate him...but mentally unhinged TC is quite endearing in the queerest way!

Damn thread title, now I'm singing Kaiser Chiefs,

"Everyday I love you less and less
It's clear to see that you've become obsessed
I've got to get this message to the press
That everyday I love you less and less..."

I like him less now. I don't want to hear his views on psychiatric medicine or psychotherapy, because he is pretty much a tool of the cult of Scientology now. I still thnk he has those moments when he is incredibly talented. But as far as interviews go, I'm very disappointed.
