hi,
I have recently made a film and after re-shoot upon re-shoot, I believe it is finnally ready for the public.
The title is called North Woods and the plot is like this:
Young 15 year old tennager John Presscott is found ragged and bloody on a country road the morning after Halloween. He is taken to a local hospital where he is interviewed by psychiatrist Pamela Alley. She gets little out of him except for a suspicious woman named Claudia Hoffman who worked as a teacher at John's school. Pamela brings Claudia in and realizes that John and his friends may not be as innocent as John made them out to be. Meanwhile, to get rid of horrible haullucinations and dreams, John gives Pamela a journel that features his entire story of what happened. The truth lies in John's journel and the story is going to be fully told through the journel. Only then will Pamela learn that some secrets are best left in the North Woods.
What do ya think?
I'll see if I can post my poster.

actually, yes....from that plot outline it does sound very interesting
does it go down the gore film route or something more like a psychological horror film???

Hmmm could be fun. This sounds pretty interesting. One question, what was the budget on the film.

It sounds interesting.
However, I still liked the sound of the film from the first you shot it where it was like a very gothic, demented fairy tale. That sounded fucking cool.
Either way, it'll be interesting to see something from this production eventually, like stills? ;)

I guess it could be either great or terrible. I'm odd in that sense, it's not the plot which interests me in a movie, it's the trailer. If you edit a trailer we can see, I'd tell you.

I would see it, although I would stongly consider changing the character's name from John Presscott. As his name is almost identical to a fat bastard politician over here who rants on about everyone using public transport but is driven about in a fucking Jaguar... Prick.

for the last five years the crimerate in an inner city has risen. the police blame it on the poverty and drugs that plague the city. the murders become more brutal and finally the pd realizes there is a serial killer among them. which was first unclear because the communities unwanted citzens were murdered.
a break comes when the serial killer murders the main detectives partner and family. he leaves a tape explaining his origins and hints on his next moves. he orgins are at first to hard to follow almost seeming like a cruel joke.
'' my childhood was normal the first 10 years. then it happened, my mother, a military scientist, used me as her personal gineua pig. the things she put in me changed me! i dont get sick, i dont feel pain and im stronger than many men. and, im just beginnig.''
the killers target is no longer criminal kind because now he has ataste for new blood. anybody
once i learn how to write a script all the characters will be included. the killer has no regard for human life, so his killings are very unusual. he is dark and wont be revealed easy. he might wear mask but even though the first killings were random, the new begining will be planned out thoroughly.
i hope yall feel me

Sounds kind of like that Thora Birch movie, 'The Hole', just because of the point where he is found bloody and ragged and he is interviewed and such. From there, it pretty much goes on its own, and I'd like to see the final product.

Yeah, it's a lot like The Hole in some respects.
SPOILERES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!S POILERES!!!!!!!!!!!!!SPOILERES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!S POILERES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SPOILERES !SPOISPOILERES!!!!!!!!LERES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SPOILERES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SPOILERES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!
We do pull a Psycho though and have the killer kill off John in the opening 30 minutes. The rest of the film folds out through Pamela reading John's journel.
We actually just had to re-shoot the opening, because we saw High Tension and it was almost identical. It was crazy.
The whole film is a little psychological in concept, but there is a fair amount of bllood. Every death ahs a little kre than most recent films. It's shot like an 80's slasher.
If I had to compare it to some films I'd say it's a mix of The Hole, High Tension, Alice, Sweet Alice(the killer wears the same mask), Heathers, May, and of course Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
The budget is low. I have not added it up, but all we really had to pay for was the blood(which is actually about $200 worth), soem costumes, props, and some atmosphere effects like rain(which there is in almost every scene) and some fog.
the actors are not paid. It's probably one of the cheapest films with somewhat of a plot ever made. It's cheaper than Blair Witch and Halloween, I can say that much.
I'm gonna keep trying to post the poster, but it keeps telling me that it's too big. If one comes up, it'll be condensed by a lot.

here's a larger version of the poster with the tagline of "Every year, people go on roadtrips. Some reach their destination, others just...dissapear"
If you can think of a better tagline, I would thank you.

The tagline poster is slick, but it looks more like a teaser.
And I don't know why I liked your tagline. If it fits the movie properly, it's great.

Honestly, the poster coudl be better. I think you should do the same picture or one similar, just get a really well-done studio kind of shot with all the proper lighting. If you REALLY want me to be critical, the actress should be belting out a bigger, more horrified scream - just to make it more interesting. I would make it a little more indicitave of something like this.
http://www.adelaidefilmfestival.org/images/photos/hightension.jpg
And I personally would put some trees behind her. (I can barely see the thing anyway tho)
But your tagline is EXACTLY like the tag of an upcoming movie ( I think its wolf creek) Except it has nothing to do with road trips.

Sorry, but I just had to post a couple of things that were bugging me. The correct spelling of the word is J-O-U-R-N-A-L, not journel, and your tagline sounds a lot like the opening title cards of 2003's Toolbox Murders.

I will watch anything and I always have the same hopes.
That the ending does not seem like a fast half ass attempt to wrap things up or that it just does not peter out before it should. Most movies I have seen as of late have always had a good start, plot and middle but the endings have been major let downs and I pay for the movie as a whole, I would rather not waste my money and feel cheated. Sadly I never know until the end if in fact I did waste my cash.
Well, that is not true, sometimes within the first half hour I know this.
Speaking of half hours that is a long enough window frame to get the ball rolling. If you go past that half hour without any real substance to hold on to you lose most of the audience. I am impatient. Dead/Alive almost lost me and if it had not been for me sitting on the remote and fast forwarding it, I would have never known such an enjoyable film, the beginning kills me though, it just kills me.

the original poster is the picture on my profile. It has the actress actually screaming. The one I am about to atatch is the rejected poster. I showed a couple of them off and they chose the one I have already posted, because it's more mysterious.
The posters have been cut down by a lot. They have been reduced to the title and image only. The website kept telling me they were too big. It's crazy!
Here's the rejected one.

Sorry! I'll try to re-post them.
The film iss till in post right now. The soundtrack is made up of other film scores. We are till finding a couple of problems that we need to fix, like insert shots, etc. We should be done by August or September. By late Semptember, I can take orders, if anyone wants a copy. I've actually shot 3 films back to back. Two or them are more expensive fairy tale films of Snow White and Cinderella, but they are pretty dark actually.
I wish I could attatch a trailer, but I can't. I don't know how to. It wasn't shot on digital, so It's pretty impossible to get a trailer up. I have made one, which was well recived from all who have seen it, but I can't post it, unless someone knows how to and can tell me how to.

Here's the first pic. It's not much, but there is more on the way. Forgive me, the stills aren't the greatest. We just don't usually take time to get stills in the really important scenes. For one, it takes time away from filming and two, I don't want to give too much away.

X-Nightcrawler, my only complaint with your poster is that it makes it look like a supernatural ghost flick. Perhaps just one shadowy figure would do. Plus, I would say photoshop the girl onto the background of the woods.

BUT, thers always one in life - if you send me a synopsis of the film, and some taglines I could probably make you a pretty cool TEASER poster - i love teasers, its all in the concept. Let me know, Im getting pretty good at this.

If you guys want to, you can help with my Snow White posters. The movie is a horror film, but it's not a typical horror film. It's more along the lines of The Omen, Suspiria, and Dark Water.
The story is a little different from the Brothers Grimm story and the Disney movie. Here it goes:
After her having a child named Snow White from her lover Adrian, Queen Esmerelda is horrified to find out that the king has beheaded her lover and has sent Adrian's brother, Samuel(the hunstman) to tell her. Scared and going over the edge, Esmerelda locks herself in her room with her newborn daughter. When she steps out of her room, she takes a long walk. She finds a strange store in the middle of nowhere and goes inside. Inside, she finds a youthful young man who sells her the secret of eternal beauty. He gives her a magical mirror, which will always tell her the truth.
Years later, Esmerelda has grown to hate her family from the potions the man has given her. When one day she finds out that her 7 year old daughter, Snow White is more beautiful than herself, she goes crazy. She calls for Samuel to slaughter his own niece and bring back her lungs and liver as proff that he killed her. Samuel can't bear the deed and sends Snow White out into the dark woods and kills a wild animal. Esmerelda eats them up, believing that she gained all of Snow White's beauty.
Snow White runs in the woods and finds the cottage of the 7 dwarves who all wear different colored masks, because of deformities. They warn Snow about her mother and they are proven right when Esmerelda finds out about Snow being alive from her mirror. She tries to kill her 3 times, but the last one is the fatal one.
You guys know the rest, except the Prince doesn't kiss Snow, his servant gets agrivated from carring Snow's coffin, she he hits Snow on the back and the piece of apple flies out of her throat.
The queen is killed brutally at the wedding, with red hot iron shoes.
Snow inherits Esmerelda's mirror and she too begins a fascination with it. The ending suggests similar things to come.
Here's a poster that I made.
