Fantasy Football Anyone?

It's probably too early to do it, but I'll come in anyway. I finished in first last year but choked in the playoffs, oh well. I need to see if Bmain can put a curse on anyone he touches.

I'm not really sure. I checked my hotmail account the other day and saw a link for free fantasy football. I just clicked on it. Never really used Yahoo. I've used NFL.com and I like it. I'm gonna be in so many come August, I just thought I'd give Fox a try.

I was about to post a note about setting up a league over on Yahoo, but if someone else is willing to do the leg work then thats cool. I'll warn Broduer I normally do much better in football than I do both basketball or baseball so don't get too cocky.

I'd like to remind you who picked Chad Johnson in the third round and you called it the steal of the draft. And don't worry, I'll be banking on the Lions too much and it will be my downfall.

EDIT: Woah, an autopick draft? A live draft is much better. I hate autopick drafts. And can I suggest either 4 points for a QB touchdown and 1 point for every 25 yards, or 6 points for a QB touchdown and 1 point for every 50 yards. And I'm not so much a fan of the WR/RB spot on the team.

I've set up a live drafting league at Yahoo. It's only a 10 man league. Once it fills up it's too late. So I want only people who will committed to a full season no matter how shitty it gets. I mean if I can keep myself interested with my pitiful baseball team then anyone should be able to do it for the shorter football season. The draft is Sat. Aug 6th at 11:30pm EST.

Anyways PM and I'll get you the info.

I had the same fucking problem. Now I can't even add a player. I say lets forget about the Fox league and go to the yahoo one. I've never tried Yahoo but anything would be better than this Fox shit.

Or, we can do an NFL.com league, live draft and all. NFL.com leagues kick fucking ass. What do you guys think?

Here is my review of the league.

Kings of the stone age -

Not a bad team at all! Peyton Manning, Antonio Gates, Domanick Davis, and Jamal Lewis I see as the core of your team. The WR position isn't bad, but relies more on potential and hoping that people like Kurt Warner and AJ Feely can throw touchdown passes.

Hard Balls -

The team looks nice, but as the weeks open up I see Priest Holmes and Curtis Martin getting banged up. I don't think Priest ever really makes it through a season, and I've always had doubts on C-Mart. Julius Jones is a nice addition who would be a starter in an 8 team league, but there are also concerns of health there. McNabb-Harrisson-Johnson are going to be your keys and hopefully Drew Bennett can score with McNair and/or BillyVolek launching to him.... without Derrick Mason on the other end.

BiteMeDickWeed -

Awesome team. Stacked to the hilt. Three folks on your bench are primed for breakout years. With Hasselbeck as a "backup QB", it looks like you could be the league champ.

Masters of Pain -

A lot of starters on this team that I put on my "Do Not Draft List". That doesn't make you wrong, that just means you have much more faith in people like Trent Green, Santana Moss, Corey Dillon, and Clinton Portis than I do. Clinton should break out again with Jansen making pancakes, but many fantasy scouts have him pegged as the first running back to take a dive this year and wind up on the injury list. I like Corey Dillon, he can put up amazing numbers... but only if fed the ball. I think a few folks on these boards were pissed when he would only get the ball about 12 times a game sometimes.

Lionsruleyou -

Another stacked team, but I think still only second best on paper. I have more faith in Kerry Collins with Randy Moss than I do Jake Delhomme. The receiving core is awesome, and Willis McGahee is supposed to have a breakout year. But even Rudi Johnson suffered last year during the first six or seven games while Carson Palmer was getting used to the offense. Look for stacked defenses to take out Willis and try to put the game in the hands of J.P. Losman. Could kill his fantasy numbers. Might not. Great backups so if the Lions or Bengals offenses start performing, you have nothing to worry about in replacing McGahee. He's just one of those guys that I'm leery about right now because of the situation... I mean, shit... Fred Taylor was ranked #7 overall two years ago.

TheDeadWalk -

My team. I had to miss most of the draft due to being on vacation. I'm very happy with my receiving core, and backups. Running backs are decent, but I could have done better. I don't like shockey, but I'll give him the nod over McMichael on account of it being Eli's second year, but if he slips, Randy is going in for good. My quarterbacks are atrocious, sans Carson Palmer who has some massive potential this year.

Looks to be a challenging year for all!
