Did anyone else find this movie not funny and overated? it seemed like the movie just dragged on and on. i hardly laughed through the whole movie. maybe i was expecting it to be funnier because it was so overated. does anyone else agree with me?

no, i found it to be one of the funniest films in years and a major improvement over the type of shit usually made in the UK

This movie has become one of my all time favorites. I don't think it's overrated at all... In fact, it was hardly promoted here, and most people found out about it purely by word of mouth. I think that it's earned a following because it's a good film, not because a bunch of critics told us we should like it.

5/5 for me as well.

Little niggles aside, there arent many movies that ive felt a broader range of emotion in while watching.

Exactly!

Great film, funny as hell with every other genre rolled into one (romance, drama, action, horror and comedy of course).

Enjoyed every minute of it.

"Don't forget to kill Phillip."

Great stuff. A film that rolled all the genre's together and goes to show if done properly it'll be a great success.

Hey man, no need to defend your opinion. You just so happened to choose a movie we all love.
Your not perfect like us. LOL. Just kidding.

I thought Shawn of the Dead was hilarious especially with all of the references to the classic and not so classic zombie movies- I am normally not a big zombie fan but this movie was funny

And don't ever worry about having a dissenting opinion, that is what these forums are for. If we all had the same opinion, it would be a boring and uninspired forum

I loved Shaun of the Dead. Mind you, I was already kind of attuned to their sense of humour having spent several drunken evenings watching Spaced. Great gags, an awesome cast of British talent (Dylan Moran and Nick Frost were great, and Bill Nighy is always fantastic).
9/10

One of my favorite movies of the past few years.

I loved it as it managed to make a lot of references to other movies, yet it was a great stand alone movie as well

great horror movie, great comedy and I even shed a tear...

The only movie that didnt play at my local cinema which I spent the time driving across the city to see.

Its a 9/10 Just about a masterpiece for me... I'd give it a 10 but my gripe is I wanted more horrific zombie gut munching even though its a comedy. :D

I truly cherish this film. :)

i thought this was one of the freshest movies ive seen in awhile. i mean it was funny but not a spoof. it took its zombie parts pretty serious but it alos took its funny parts serious, making them as funny as possible. Its not dumb and dumber or wedding crashers but its up there.

No offense but Dumb and Dumber? Ugghh! That movie was horrible. It had a few funny parts but not many. Haven't seen Wedding Crashers. Though I hear it's good. Of course, I heard D&D was too. It's like when everyone kept telling me to watch 'Friday'. "Oh it's so funny!"... Yeah right. I kept waiting for something funny to happen but to no avail. What a waste of time.

Anywho... Hope I didn't offend. Just stating my opinion. 'Shaun' is one of my faves now. It's an excellent movie. I agree that they took their zombie parts seriously. Especially toward the end. It seemed to me that the first part of the movie was more comedy then the last half hour or so was straight up zombie flick. Brilliant movie.

Eventhough Shaun is a fantastic movie.

Movies like Shaun of the Dead, Princess Bride, Army of Darkness, Resident Evil: Apoc, ect, ect, are better to me then stuff like Dumb and Dumber(still a 5/5 comedy) because they have other elements to them that seem to improve the replay value of the movie...to me at least.

No it wasnt.

One of the funniest, creative, well made, well acted, and creepiest horror comedies ever.

I'm a huge fan of "Spaced" and I wasnt let down with this. Pegg and Wright are brilliant.

10/10

Not really fair to compare it to a straight up comedy. Plus its a different type of film. This was horror comedy, D and D and Wedding Crashers was pure comedy... debatably.

I thoroughly enjoyed "Shaun of the Dead"! I thought it was scary, witty, and just plain ol' fun! There were some nice sincere moments thrown in there too. That's what i really dug about this film - it had a little of everything in it. Wright and Pegg really outdid themselves with this movie. I can't wait to see what they do next!

The question is, what if they were ZOMBIE wedding crashers?

..or Dumb and Dumber was played by Bub and Big Daddy?

..i dont see how that wouldnt just completely own any and all things.
