What's better? Cinderella Man or Million Dollar Baby?

I rated both an 8.5/10 but I'll go with Million Dollar Baby since it didn't follow the typical underdog sports story like Cinderella Man did.

I agree. Million Dollar Baby (4/5) is much better than Cinderella Man (3/5), although I have to admit that the last boxing sequence in CM is incredibly intense and had me on the edge of my seat.

CM was pretty good, but kinda seems like it was made for the sole purpose of trying to nab an Oscar.

Million Dollar Baby just works more on an emotional level, it's much less of a boxing movie.

and it pisses off all those right wing talk show hosts and evangelicals.

Definitely M$B. A fantastic and heartfelt film that isn't simply your typical underdog wins it all boxing tale.

Cinderella Man 9/10
Million Dollar Baby 7/10

Simply put, Million Dollar Baby didn't move me the way it obviously moved everybody else. It's a very well made and acted movie. But other than one scene that made want to jump up and cheer involving Morgan Freeman's character (those who have seen the movie I'm sure will know what scene I'm talking about) it didn't touch as much as it should have despite splendid acting from the whole cast.

Cinderella Man is, IMO, superior in every way imaginable. First, the boxing scenes were intense and brutal. Second, the drama of the movie moved me a lot more. Unlike MDB, there were atleast half a dozen times in this movie that almost got me to cry. Also, the villain of sorts in this movie is better than the villain of sorts in MDB.

Simply put, I think Cinderella Man is truly a great movie whereas Million Dollar Baby is just good.
