I'll have to go with LEAVING LAS VEGAS...a wonderful film...but certainly very very depressing.

I have to agree. Watching a man trying to kill himself really hits you in the chest.

I was between American History X and Requiem. X got the edge because:
A) I didn't see it coming
B) I really started to like Furlong's character.

Trainspotting. It was depressing watching because I'm depressed to see an awful movie! :p

Of the few movies I've seen I went with 21 Grams.

Definately Requeim For A Dream god that was just really depressing as mess. But yeah I haven't seen alot of those, so others could be more depressing than this one.

Requiem For A Dream, I love the movie, but I only watch it once in a while because I feel so depressed after watcing it.

American History X
Born on the Fourth of July
Save the Tiger

I haven't seen either of the above so I'm going to pretend they aren't in the poll. From the rest I'll go with Last Tango in Paris, a movie I haven't seen in a year but I still remember those Brando monologues and painful sessions in the apartment.

I'm surprised to see everyone saying REQUEIM FOR A DREAM. Not that it isn't very depressing, but I'd say it's not more depressing than the rest of those movies.

Oh well, that's just me talking.

Leaving Las Vegas

Although I would say it's more sad than depressing; I only get depresssed after wating time watching a really shitty excuse for a movie.

For me The Wall beats them all.

I voted for 21 Grams off the list.

In the list, requiem for a dream, but if someone wants to be really depressed, watch The War Zone, which is an excellent movie with brilliant acting and directing, but its so depressing it will leave you in that state for a week or so.

Requiem For A Dream for sure - the most emotionally impacting and depressing, and hardest to watch endings, of all time.
