I still love her. She's tearing up her bread & butter, but she's just so honest about everything. She's a lovely and talented young lady regardless of her love or disdain for her profession.

Acting is pointless says Scarlett

Scarlett Johansson says she is not proud of her films and thinks acting is a relatively pointless profession.

In an interview with German daily Financial Times Deutschland, she said: "As actors, we make movies, we don't save lives. What I do, it's actually not that important."

She added: "I'm also not proud of my films. That was never a criteria."

She said she always just wanted to make movies that she herself would pay to see, adding: "I definitely want to be in a Tim Burton film. That's right at the top of my list."

She also revealed she would like to direct she added: "I would even make an advert if I had to, if it meant I could direct at least once. As long as it wasn't for tampons or something embarrassing."

Finally someone in Hollywood who doesn't take thier profession too seriously. I respect what she said because it's absolutely true. It pisses me off when people in Hollywood make it seem like what they're doing is actually more important than everything else. Her candidness and humility combined with the fact that she's drop dead georgous all are slowly but surely making me fall in love with her.

Of all the two movies I have seen her in, lost in translation and in good company, I didn't like her. And here I can't tell if she's not taking herself too seriously, or insulting acting itself.
I don't think she's going to last very long in hollywood. She's loved by film geeks and all, but I don't think the everyman knows her, and with her big budget island bombing, she hasn't reached into mainstream yet. I also don't think she has much range, playing roughly the same type of personality in both of the movies I saw her in.

Yeah, I'm not a fan. But if she's just joshin around up there, then good for her. If she's playing the "I didn't care ANYWAYS!" card after her movie just so happened to have bombed days earlier, well. . .

I wouldn't know since I don't know her personally, but from interviews and stuff, she seems to be very intelligent (something very rare in Celebrityville). That makes her so much more attractive. I can't stand ditzy chicks. Plus she's a Democrat (I'm assuming from the picture) so that's like crazy hot. I hope I never learn that she likes football and weed, otherwise my head would probably explode! :D

Nice statement. At least she's honest with her criticisms, doesn't BS all the films she's done.

I will say, though, that certain actors and performances inspire me to write good material and continue loving good films.
