Al Pacino. He hasn't done as many terrible films as DeNiro has lately.

Al Pacino tends to over act unless he has a good director reign him in. I thought his performance in Scent of a Woman was really overrated.
I went with Al, it was a coin flip actually. They are both very similar in the roles they take except for all the crap DeNiro has been signing on to lately.

Robert De Niro for me, though they're both two of the best actors not just of their generation, but of any generation. De Niro's performance in Raging Bull is possibly the 2nd-best performance I've ever seen in a movie, only to Marlon Brando in On the Waterfront (which, perhaps not by coincidence, De Niro references in Raging Bull by reciting the famous "contender" speech).

Love 'em both, but I like Pacino a little bit better. Probably because of Scent of a Woman - freakin' love that movie.

I gotta go with Bobby De Niro, I'm a bigger fan of his movies and performances: Taxi Driver, Deer Hunter, Raging Bull, Goodfellas, Casino - I mean c'mon.

Both are two of the greatest actors that ever lived, but Bobby D definitely has more fabulous performances under his belt. From Mean Streets to Taxi Driver to Raging Bull (one of the greatest of all performances) to King of Comedy to Goodfellas, and plenty of other films where he never ceases to amaze me. He even gives serviceable perfomances in the stinkers he's made in recent years, as the best thing to come out of those films.

I'd pick DeNiro. He simply has the more impressive resume. Al Pacino is no slouch but he hasn't had as many memorable roles as DeNiro.

Although DeNiro is probably more versatile, I have to admit that I just like Pacino a little more.

I would have to go with Bobby on this one. I just loved his movies. True he had his string of bad movies but hey Pacino was in "Gigli" thats bad enough for him lol
Brando @$$ Fat

Such a huge fan of both, but I chose Bobby since he's more versatile.

But his scene was great. He was awsome there. Definately a highlight of an underrated movie.

De Niro, because I wanted him to succeed in Heat and not Al. Plus I feel that de Niro's range is a bit wider.

While I like them both, Bobby D gets my vote.
Pacino just shouts a lot.

Al gets my vote. He's more versatile (even though shouts a lot ;) )

Since DeNiro seems to have given up to do paycheck crap like Rocky & Bullwinkle and Showtime, I'm giving to Al. No doubt DeNiro once had talent, but he hasn't taken an Insider or an Angels in America or a Merchant of Venice in the last 10 years.

Al. I'll watch any movie with Pacino in it, and I can't say the same for De Niro. Pacino is always watchable, even in cack like Simone, whearas De Niro clearly can't be bothered in films like Hide and Seek and Analyze That. At least Pacino has the decency to overract in crap movies, while De Niro just sleepwalks through his. Also, Pacino has put in some really great performances recently. I thought he was great in Insomnia.

I know I'm in the minority, but I will argue till the day I day that 15 Minutes and City by the Sea are two terrific, underrated movies! Especially City by the Sea which also contains, IMO, one of DeNiro's very best performances!

It runs really close.
SOOO many good films between the two men (they were both in HEAT, great freakin' movie)
But SCARFACE puts it over the top for me. Major iconic movie, inspired so many flicks after it was released and since then.
A total cultural phenomenon.
Mr. Pacino, I tip my hat.
Rober de Niro, cuz he's in more cool flicks than Al.
Robert is cool when he gets mad. And he has been in almost every big mafia or crime movie.

Pacino.
don't judge him untill you have seen these flicks..
Frankie & Johnny
Serpico
Heat (which boobyd was also amazing...)
and of course....Carlito's way.
IMO his best 4 performances.
let's not forget the marvelous performance in Gigli !!!! ;o)
