What person has surprised you with a rockin performance?
1) Dwight Yoakum in Sling Blade.
2) Mark Wahlberg in Boogie Nights.
3) Marc Anthony in Bringing out the Dead.

Dolly Parton was EXCELLENT in STEEL MAGNOLIAS (10/10). I love this movie and she gave such a wonderful comedic performance.

Donnie Wahlberg (of New Kids On the Block Fame) gave a good, if brief, performance as Vincent Grey in THE SIXTH SENSE (10/10).

I got a kick out of Eddie Vedder's performance in Singles.

And speaking of Dolly Parton, I thought she was pretty good in 9 to 5.

Aaliyah was great as the "Queen of the Damned" and Marc Anthony's performance in "Bringing Out the Dead" was fantastic.

Ok, who are we forgetting...oh, O.J. Simpson! I thought he was pretty good in Naked Gun. I was looking at his filmography at IMDb, and it said:

The Trial of O.J. Simpson, 1995 - O.J. stars as himself.

The fact that they even included that in his filmography seems so asinine it cracks me up!

They include people like Hitler and Stalin when they appear in archival footage, sometimes even if it's on a TV in the background in a scene in a movie. Y'know...there's thorough, and then there's nuts.

I wouldn't even have thought of looking up Hitler or Stalin at IMDb, but since you mentioned it I looked, and there they are. And Hitler has the longest "filmography" of anyone I have ever looked up on that site. Sheeeshhhh

Cher in MOONSTRUCK

Am I the only one who thinks she did a friggin' fantastic job in that wonderful film? So what if the screenwriter went on to do THE JANUARY MAN?

Nope, I loved her in that movie as well. And the movie itself is one of my favorites. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif
