I'm slowly becoming a huge fan of this band. Anyone else like KISS? What are some of the best songs?
I'm currently in love with "Tears Are Falling", "All Hell's Breaking Loose", "Rock and Roll All Night" and of course, "Come Sail Away".

I've always been a big fan of KISS.
Back many years when I was just a little demon.
The greatest marketing and merchandising band ever came out. KISS! Wearing freaky make up and sporting seven inch leather heeled boots. Parents hated them, and kids loved them.
My sister’s room was practically wallpapered with their posters and she had all their 8-tracks. I remember I would place various pillows and cylinder objects on my bed, and pretend I was Peter Criss and Gene Simmons as I rocked out to Destroyer. Beating the hell out of my imaginary drums and belting out as loud as I could. “I’m the king of the night time world, and you're my headlight queen!” Even though I didn’t know what the I was singing about. I didn’t care I was rockin’, and it beat the hell out listening to my Puff The Magic Dragon record. I swear one time smoke came out of the speakers on my stereo. Freaked me out!
Destroyer is my favorite KISS album with Detroit Rock City being the best song.
It’s great on Destroyer, because you get to here the cool intro that’s not on any of the best of albums.
At least, I don’t think it is.
Here’s the words to the intro. You’ll have to make your own sound effects.
"... congressional reports. President Ford says that
he's disappointed with Congress's performance.
In Detroit, a Pontiac, Michigan youth was reported
dead at the scene of a head-on collision on Grand Avenue this morning.
The youth was reportedly driving on the wrong side
of the boulevard when he struck a delivery truck
and was catapulted through the windshield of his car.
The driver of the truck is reported to be uninjured.
The identities of both men are being withheld by local police.
County legislatives today are expected to rally to the aid of striking
longshoremen in hopes of ending the 9 month deadlock ..."
"..roll all night and party every day
I wanna rock and roll all night and party every day"
I’ve enjoyed most of their albums through the years even without the makeup.
To me they have too many good tunes to list, but if was to burn a disc of KISS tunes.
It would probably consist of these fine selections loved by grandmothers everywhere.
Detroit Rock City
Calling Dr. Love
Love Gun
God Of Thunder
King Of The Night Time World
Heaven’s On Fire
Firehouse
Black Diamond
Parasite
Strutter
Deuce
Cold Gin
All Hell’s Breakin’ Loose
Rock N’ Roll All Night
Lick It Up
Hard Luck Woman
Uh! All Night
Creatures Of The Night
I Love It Loud
Seeing KISS live is where it’s at!
It is truly one of the most fun shows I’ve been to. I feel very lucky I got see them one last time with all the original members about 9 years ago. I was so close I got blood on me and my eyebrows singed from the god of thunder.
Two more things.
I confess. I own KISS Meets The Phantom Of The Park.
Eric Carr was a better drummer than Peter Criss. He was also a member of the band longer. I wish he didn’t croak.

KISS is one of my all time favorites.
If you ever get the chance pick up the KISS Exposed DVD. I first saw the video at a buddy's house in '87 (I think) and recently was able to ditch my own VHS copy when I found the DVD version.
I got to see KISS live in '98 when the originals got back together for the Psycho Circus tour. It was one of the best shows I've seen.

I saw them twice with Aerosmith a few years ago. Amazing show. While I still think Aerosmith are the better musicians, KISS puts on a stage show that can't be betten. Get ALIVE! and Alive II. Those albums show that KISS' music really comes alive in concert.
FYI, it's actually Styx that sing Come Sail Away.

As a matter of fact Im wearing the t-shirt I got at their concert two summers ago at West Palm. Awesome concert!! There was all the original members. there is nothing cooler than watching Gene 'the demon' Simons spit blood while making wacked out sounds on his base. Paul Stanley looked great ans sang great, Ace Freely is a majorly underrated guitar player and Peter Criss is.....well he's the Cat!

The Come Sail Away thing was a joke. See how he put *holds sides* at the end.
I hope that song stays with STYX.

ROCK AND ROOOOOOOOOOOLLLLL
Seriously, one of the greatest bands to ever be, possibly the very best of the 70's, i cant help but luv em! Out of their earlier stuff i find hotter than hella s my fave with Destroyer in the later part of the original 4. Kisses earlier stuff are much better live with their later stuff bein better for studio work, i've found comparing hteir live stuff, and also their 80's stuff mightnt be the original four but its still really good, oen coudl debate that the band is actually better in this time.
But i love em as the originals, i mean, i cant not love one of their songs, and i cant say enough about the band. I'd say start with their various gh's cd stuff then go into the more of it, thats how i did and ive taken a wide appreciation of kiss for it!

I'm not a fan of classic/retro KISS. I actually prefer '80s KISS up until Revenge. That album kicks ass. Unholy is one hell of a metal song.
I'm pretty much a fan of only Creatures of the Night through Revenge. Didn't much care for Carnival of Souls.
