Roberts To "Quit Hollywood"?
Julia Roberts has reportedly made her last movie and will quit acting after appearing on Broadway next year so she can spend time with her baby twins. The Oscar winner recently went back to work for the first time after giving birth to Phinnaeus and Hazel last November, appearing in a music video for rocker Dave Matthews. She has only done voiceover work - for animated movies Charlotte's Web and Ant Bully - since wrapping 2004 movie Ocean's Twelve. Roberts will spend the rest of the year preparing for her theatre debut in Three Days Of Rain which opens next March - and then retire from acting for good. According to sources close to the star, 37-year-old Roberts has had enough of acting, wants to enjoy time with the twins and husband Danny Moder - but she has just one more career goal left to achieve. A friend tells the National Enquirer, "Julia is done with Hollywood and starring in a Broadway play is the chance to make a graceful exit. She's been talking about leaving Los Angeles and stopping the movie roles ever since the twins were born late last November. She wanted a change of scenery, a change of pace and a new challenge." On her Broadway ambitions, the source adds, "She wants to take some chances. Julia doesn't to be known simply as a movie star - she wants to be known as the consummate actress. She wants her kids to be able to look back on her career as something more than just the star of Pretty Woman."
She has made a small fortune playing the same charater in every movie. I could really care less if she quits the biz. Her mouth looks like a hot dog bun filled with chiclets.

A ugly actress that got noticed for a shitty role in a shitty film. The only movie that I liked her in was Erin Brocovich.

I have never come across such an overrated, over-publicized, over-exposed actress in my life. She should have an award for such. She's horrible, never appealing, and never involving in her roles. I say, take as long as you want, I wont shed a tear for you. Other than "Closer", her filmography can just be forgotten.

Definitely an overrated and overexposed actress, and slightly annoying, but there's way worse things in Hollywood. If she's still around, I'll live with her, if she's not, I'll live without.

Just realized, out of that list, which is most of her non rom-com movies, I only liked a few (ERIN BROCKOVICH, CLOSER, CONFESSIONS OF A DANGEROUS MIND, HOOK and NOTTING HILL), and I'm not a huge rom-com lover.
Still can't say I'd miss her that much. :D

Why do so many people hate roberts? That's the one hated celebrity I don't get. The only possible thing I can think of is that she's overrated. Is there something she said or did I never read (just got into the gossip game months ago with this website, so)?
Tom cruise, I can understand. And at least with him people have good insults. With roberts it's the completely bizarre horse face insult and that she has a big mouth? Come on guys, you can do better! Whip out those photographs, grab a thesaurus, and try again.
I'm not partial to the gal or anything, but she's mustered up quite the cult after her. What'd she do?

She's...surprisingly annoying.

She won an Oscar for a role anybody could've played on the Lifetime Movie Network.

C-Decreation, are you kidding me? Have you ever heard the bitch laugh? One of the worst sounds God ever created or most likely Satan.
Also, did any of you remember her little speech to Denzel at the Oscars?
"I love my life"
I almost wanted to throw my remote at my television.
Denzel must of been like "get this crazy white bitch off my nuts":

Just for that, I hope it's not.
Shit, you're perhaps the wittiest guy here yet horse face is contemplating quiting and that's the best you can do? It's rather sad now that I can imagine your response to Mini-Cruise dying of cardiac arrest after going on a massive, enrage, ape-like tangent while propagating Hubbardism will be a very mild yay.

I didn't see any oscar speech. Anyone got a link?
But, did see those hundreds of celebrity retirement announcements over the past years . . . and, then those hundreds coming back into showbiz now that their retirement caused a stir of hype.
I'll bet she'll be back in the game by the time her twins are walking and talking.

I don't have a link, but basically she was presenting "BEST ACTOR" and the winner was Denzel Washington. SO since she's friends with him and whatever, when she saw the name in the little envelope, she said "I LOVE MY LIFE".
WTF is that horseshit.

She's one of those actresses I can live with and also live without. I've seen a few of her movies and they're nothing spectacular but they could be worse. Overrated yeah, but she's not as annoying as others.

..i just remember seeing the picture where they had her with TOM HANKS and DENZEL and think "no...fucking...WAY is she in the same league. Its like they HAD to throw a female to counter the white and black guy.
I think Nicole Kidman kicks her ass all over is sheer talent, and thats just the beginning of a loooong list.

She could be a No actress without makeup. One of Mil Mascaras' dragon cowls would be an improvement, and have a smaller mouth. She's loud, stupid, obnoxious, shallow and, along with Cruise and Tom Hanks, a perfect exemplar of the sort of middlebrow horseshit that Americans seem to think is real art. She's an Oprah favorite. Case closed.
Better?

Exactly.
And while we're at it, Kidman won for a performance more fit for the El Paso Alamo Dinner Theatre.
Over the last few years, the AMPAS voters are the rough equivalent of WWE referees in judgement and ethical behavior.

No offense to anyone living in or near El Paso, TX or to the men who died at the Alamo. I'm not exactly in the aesthetic equivalent of New York or Paris myself.
Just a little joke fodder.
