I saw the Stripeys at Red Rocks on August 22nd, and they blew me away. (fanboy alert) Jack White is just...it's like there's music inside him, like he can hardly restrain himself from just exploding at any moment (end fanboy alert). Add to that his penchant for doing weird, cool things (at one point, he stopped playing a song, took off his jacket, picked his guitar back up and started playing the same song) and you've got a hell of a show. The setlist was also crazy (not in exact order):

Cannon/John the Revelator
Screwdriver (broken up into 3 parts)
You're Pretty Good Looking
Hello Operator
Apple Blossom
Death Letter
Sister, Do You Know My Name?
Hotel Yorba
I Think I Smell a Rat
We're Going to Be Friends
Offend in Every Way
Black Math
In The Cold, Cold Night
Ball & Biscuit
Lovesick
Good to Me
Blue Orchid
The Nurse
My Doorbell
The Denial Twist
Passive Manipulation (twice)
Instinct Blues
Girl You Have No Faith in Medecine

Encore:
I'm Lonely (But I Ain't That Lonely Yet)
Red Rain
As Ugly As I Seem
Little Ghost
Little Bird
Seven Nation Army
Boll Weevil

Anyone else seen them, and did they not own your soul for all eternity?

Yeah, I saw the White Stripes too. Here's an exerpt from the show I went to:

*Stripes begin playing "I Can Tell That We Are Gonna Be Friends", or whatever the title is, and some people start tossing big balloon/balls around labelled with the name of some radio station. About two minutes into the song, balls reach the stage*

Jack White (he and Meg instantly stop playing song): "What is this, some fuckin radio promotion? "

*struggles to knock ball to the side of the stage with guitar, finally kicks it out of the way*

"What the fuck is that shit?" (continues song, exactly where he left off).

It was a kinda weird, but funny moment. And it didn't make the song any worse, if anything, it made it better.

wow, september 27th they play kind of close next to me. Along with The Shins, this is golden. Even more so, tickets on the lawn are only $25.00 I gotta plan to get together with a bunch of friends and have a good old time here. I love both bands.

--and lawn may sound like hippy shit, but it's not bad at all. Once you get into the act, everyone stands up and it isn't too far away. I saw Keane, Killers, some weird band, another weird band, and Louis XIV here all in one night. I expect a damn good show :D

There's nothing wrong with the lawn. And besides, despite your comment about hippy shit, the lawn is the place to be at Grateful Dead reunion shows :D

Every single time I see the WHite Stripes Jack and Meg get better and better and better. Their live act is always explosive and has this electricity that just makes the crowd go wild. I'm glad you had fun bob. :)
