LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A 16-year-old actress who starred in the 2004 film "Sleepover" and appeared in the television show "Gilmore Girls" has vanished and is considered a runaway, police said on Wednesday.

Scout Taylor-Compton was last seen on August 12 at her home in the Southern California community of Apple Valley and was reported missing by her mother, San Bernardino County Sheriff's spokeswoman Cindy Beavers said.

"She has been put in the system as a runaway," Beavers said. "We can only assume that it's probably like many other cases that we take, where the teen-ager does not want to be found."

Taylor-Compton's publicist released a statement from her family confirming that she was missing.

"We sincerely appreciate everyone's attention and concern regarding Scout and are praying for her safe return," the statement said. "We have faith in the agencies working on the case and are optimistic that the outcome will be positive."

The Web site of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children described her as white with red hair and hazel eyes, pierced ears and scars on her forehead.

I am sorry if my title of this thread makes me sound like a asshole but I knew Sleepover would do some damage. Not to the Box Office but the stars themselves. :D

So the lobotomy didn't take, huh?

Seriously, I hope she goes home and works things out.

I think everyone pretty much suspected that she was just over some friend's house. When you've got money like she does, you don't run away for real, and wander the streets.

Glad to see everything's fine and well.

Now if only someone can make the fat girl from SLEEPOVER go away for a while...
