a woman has come forward claiming to be the mother of Jolie's new daughter- I guess the media tracked her down and told her who adopted the baby. She said she had been brutally raped and she decided to have the baby but couldn't afford to keep her fed, I guess. I'll try to post the link to the article. She said she would not interfere with them and she wishes them both well but I wonder how this will make Jolie feel if it's an open adoption kind of situation.

God, I hate fucking parents that mess up, give their kid up for adoption, they don't sober up or clean up, then lie to the officals saying that they are clean and good and then they get a kid that belongs to someone else at that time. They fucked up their chance to keep the kid. They need to stop wanting the kid back. They lost them.

after being raped i wonder what made her decide to have the child? it would be hard to grow up and know that your father raped the person that gave birth to you, expecially if it was some random guy off the street.

Well, it's really unfortunate what happened to the mother of Angelina's newly adopted daughter.
But going on what Lynn posted about the article, she doesnt seem to want to start any sort of trouble for Jolie.
Although like Lynn mentioned above, it would be interesting to know how Angelina feels if we're talking an open adoption situation here.

It's gotta be weird that as the child grows the media will continually be checking with the bio mom to see if she agrees with what Angelina is doing with the kid. And then the kid may be torn to see her bio mom in the tabloids all the time. too bad this happened.

The mother of Angelina Jolie's adopted daughter, Zahara Marley, is reportedly an 18-year-old Ethiopian teenage rape victim who gave her baby up for adoption in hopes of giving her a better future.

Dawit discovered she was pregnant four months after being raped last year. She gave birth on Jan. 7, despite family and friends pleading that she have an abortion.

``I was all alone after giving birth, but I was so happy to have my child, but I was thinking about its future,'' she said.

She took a job with a construction company to try to provide for her daughter, who she named Setota, which means gift. It was obvious, though, that despite her best effort, Setota wasn't getting enough food and was losing weight.

``I could only eat a piece of bread each day, so it was very difficult to me to breastfeed my child. I assumed my baby was going to die,'' she said.

Jolie adopted Setota, now Zahara Marley, in July. Dawit, who is not familiar with Jolie, was ecstatic when told of the wealth of her daugther's new mother.

``I am so grateful to this lady for giving my daughter a better life. I want them both to know I love them very much. I want to say thank you to Angelina for giving my baby this wonderful, loving family,'' she said.

Sounds like the kid has been through a lot despite tender years...I wish her all the luck in the world.

I don't think it was a real good idea to track down the mother. when the child is old enough she should be the one to track her down if she desires. Now every1 knows about the bio. mother, and i think that it's a bad idea to put it in the media because i think that the woman won't have much peace after this.

Besides i don't think that a child should know that she he is the result of a rape. :(

It really does - I can't believe this is even in the press. I mean - fair enough for her to tell her story - but it's just sad for the child and sad for the mom and well, everyone involved - seems like personal business and the media are exploited this. (shocker)
