i have confidence this year in my 49ers... after last years horrendous 2 and 14 finish... i had to hang my head in shame... but i have stuck by them, since birth and until death the San Francisco 49ers have and will always be my team (when im rich, i wanna buy them...)! We just got Alex Smith... who to be honest, isnt looking super duper just yet... but he is a rookie, he's got that potential. Rattay should be doing good this year. And after the Tragedy of Thomas Herrion, i feel the 49ers will work extra hard to make sure this season isnt in vein, to do it for Herrion. So my bet with a few of my friends is that we will at least finish up with an 8 and 8, which come Wild Card time, may push us into the Playoffs. Hopefully we can do much better.
The pre season so far has been exciting, ,with them beating the Raiders, and taking the Titans to Overtime and then beating them with less than 2 minutes on the clock. The only loss was to the Bronco's so far (who now feature a player who should have been allowed back on the 49ers to finish his career... Jerry Rice)
So am i nuts?? Is this a stupid bet on my part? Do any of you think the 9ers have it in them??
Better yet... is anyone else as huge a fan of the 49ers as i am?
I was born in California, thats why the 49ers are my team. I have lived in Maryland for a very long time.. but only like the Ravens. They are good... and i do root for them from time to time, but nowhere near my love for the 49ers!

I don't think they will finish any better than 5-11. The O-Line is a mess, Kevan Barlow has yet to prove himself, the receivers are nothing special, and the defense has to adapt to a new scheme. Julian Peterson is excellent and Tony Parrish will be very good this year. The D isn't bad, but it won't do very well in it's first year in the 3-4.
They have potential. Alex Smith is still a new and untested experiment. And as mentioned, the offense needs more work. If they finish as high as 8-8, I would be impressed.

To be simple, their offense is just simply too god-awful to go 8-8 even if the NFC is a weak league this year. St. Louis and Seattle should not lose to them at all, and Arizona at this point I think is a better team.
I can see their best chances at victories being against Washington, Chicago, Tennessee, Arizona (1x), and Houston.
5-11 at best.

A 5-win season would be a miracle. Eight would only happen if the entire NFC West decided that it would be a jolly jape to forfeit all of their games to the 49ers. Of course, that would only be six wins...

I seriously doubt that the 49ers will come anywhere near 8 wins. I think they'll be lucky to win 3. Yes, they have Alex Smith, but he's no Roethlisberger. Smith will not turn that team around any time soon. But it's still admirable that you're sticking to your team.

Look at the bright side - you should have the # 1 pick next year. If your lucky you'll get some exciting games and pile up enough losses to get the #1 spot.

They beat the Rams. 8-8 is possible!

The NFL just came out with a statement saying that after yesterday's loss to The Eagles, The 49ers don't technically qualify as a team anymore.
They are now in the elite group of 2005 non-teams that also includes The Kansas City Royals.
:(
Ouch. Oh well...dibs on the MLB draft!

Just move a few miles away and you can enjoy sports again.
The Rams, Blues and Cardinals will make you remember what it was like to win again.
Bah! The Rams suck, Hockey doesn't deserve the attention and the Cards would bore me after a few years.
BTW: The Chiefs are a better team this year.

True, but I was referring more to recent championships/success. In any case, I hate The Rams...
I also happen to find The Cards boring as hell. The Royals, even when losing, are a much more interesting team to watch...

I understand that your a niners fan, but your crazy if you think you even think they'll get 8 wins.
My guess is they'll be 5-11 or 6-10-- if their lucky
