Are there any other Joy Division fans on this board? I've been obsessed with the band for a long time now and listen to their music almost everyday. Also can't wait for the movie to come out (if it ever will)... so anyone a fan???

Ah, Joy Division, my favorite post-punk band. So brilliant, yet so short-lived. Good thing New Order came around, even though they were basically a different band, and although they were good, they couldn't match what they did with Joy Division. Anyway, yeah, Joy Division is awesome. Closer, Unknown Pleasures, and Substance are all essential albums in my opinion.

I recently got into this band and New Order and I adore them both a whole hell of a lot. "Unknown Pleasures" is an effin brilliant album.

I like them, though I don't find them to be the be-all, end-all of music.

I bought Closer a few months ago, and I enjoyed it. But then I heard Substance from a friend of mine, and I was blown away!

Love Will Tear Us Apart is forever stuck in my heard.

They are very good, but they are a group that I appreciate more than I like.

Yeah. I mean, I don't think of them like, OMFG JOY DIVISION ROX0RX1337thebigone!!11.

But I can enjoy them and appreciate them because of their contributions to music.

I wouldn't call myself a "fan", but I like 'em. I have the 'Substance' album, very heavy stuff, great to listen to when you're out ya face! Lovely atmospheric music, I like to listen to them along with Stone Roses and Kasabian...makes for intense listening.

1. I would call myself a "fan".

2. I like AND appreciate 'em.

3. Whilst not the be-all and end-all of music they were pretty fucking special, and they continue to inspire t'kids to the day.

I believe "Love Joy Division" is the chapter just next to "Always insist on plenty of gravy" in the "How to be a proper Northerner" handbook.

Looking forward to Tony and Deborah's film about Curtis. I'd love to see Sean Harris reprise his role as Ian in 24HPP but I doubt it will happen...he's soon to be seen playing Ian Brady alongside Maxine Peake (Veronica in Shameless) as Myra Hindley in an upcoming TV drama. Looks like stellar stuff and it has the full backing of the victims families.
