I've been wondering this for some time. (Maybe I'm wrong and he is, you tell me) Why Pedro Almodovar isn't a revered director? I personally think he is a master and he has like 12 great movies he's directed in a row.
Don't you think he should be on Felliniesque, Bergmanesque and Kurosawaesque level? I don't think there is a current foreign director with the kind of incredible career that Almodovar has (Maybe Wong Kar Wai, but he's revered). But, somehow he's often ignored when talking about the greatest directors. Why? He's a filmmaker that has almost established his own daring style of moviemaking.
Why? (And as I say, maybe he is revered and I'm just living under a rock).
