watched it last night for the first time... im talkin about the 2005 Racial movie, not the 1996 Holly Hunter/ James SPader NC17 rated flick, directed by David Cronenberg... even though Cronenberg's new flick A History Of Violence looks fucking AMAZING... so i may check out the 1996 Crash!
But I Digress...
this movie was full of performances from actors that were totally against type, ESP Sandra Bullock!
The movie made me laugh a few times at some of the racist comments like this one:
Ria: Okay, here's a little geography lesson. My mother was from Ecuador, and my father was from Spain and *neither* of those are in Mexico!
Graham: Then I guess the real question is who brought all those remarkably unique cultures together and taught them all how to park their cars on their lawns?
(thats Jennifer Espisito and Don Cheadle)
fuckin just an amazing movie... and even though it seems a lil far fetched that everyone can be THAT racist... it is just so very true!
The only thin i didnt enjoy was the very ending, no spoilers really... i just kinda felt it left things open ended... there was no real closure... but maybe thats jut me... i will be watching it again though!
PLUS... you get to see Jennifer Espisito's Boobs! (You have to look through Don Cheadles ass...but they are there trust me)
Kick Ass Flick!
And i figured we could have a discussion about this flick too!

lol agreed it was funny. Im Puerto Rican and i still thought it was funny... anyways the dialogue you quoted was a little off.... she said
"My father is from Puerto Rico and my mother is from El Salvador"
but aside from that.... the movie was fantastic. It is definelty my number 2 movie of the year. I watched the day I bought it and will continue to watch it to see what else I can get out of it...

I also loved this movie, yeah the racism was a bit exagerrated, but I think it was on purpose to make the point that it does exist and affects us all in some way or another whether we realize it or not. I thought it was funny when the two black guys left the restaurant and Ludacris says "that waitress was racist because she didn't give us any coffee and she didn't pay any attention to us because we are black and blacks don;t tip" and the other guy says, "um, she was black, and did you leave a tip?" and he says, "no, what with that service?" ha, living up to stereotype ! the little girl part was heart wrenching and I loved the Matt Dillon/Thandie Newton stuff also. I was quite touched by this movie overall.

I just watched this today. By far the best movie I seen this year.
The whole cast is just beyond great. I love this flick.

Hell yeah. I just finished watching this and I was amazed. Some shocking, heart pounding scenes. I loved it. 2nd best of the year behind Sin City.

Wow, Great great movie. There are just about two or three sequences here that just left me breathless. 3rd best of the year for me so far behind Oldboy and Sin City.

Yea I just saw this one myself... Here's my review:
Saw this the other day, EXCELLENT movie! This movie's theme is Racism, and I've always been interested in movies that dare to explore that concept...
This movie's design is similar to movies like Traffic and 21 Grams, but substitute the drugs with Racsim... It's basically about 4-5 different people's paths crossing, how Asians think about Blacks, what Persians think of Mexicans, etc. and some of the scenes are just fucking brilliant...
I don't wanna go too much into detail, but I will say that Matt Dillon and especially Sandra Bullock (straying away from her "goodie goodie/nice girl roles to take on a more cold/racist part) played great roles in this one, the acting was great... Hell even the joke of an actor Brendan Fraser played a serious role as Bullock's husband, and didn't do half bad!
Anyway, if you liked movies like the above mentioned, or others like American History X, etc. or if you're just in the mood for a really engaging movie that makes you THINK, I HIGHLY recommend checking "Crash" out!
Right behind "Broken Flowers" as my 2nd favourite of the year!

anyways, when i saw CRASH in theaters, i loved it. it was one of my favorite films ever. I got a chance to rent it again, and its still up there..
even seeing it a second time, it still hits you. the scene with the invisible cloak and the gun, it is soooooo moving. the first time i saw it, my mouth was wide open.
also, the scene where Don Cheadle's brother is dead, and his mom is talking to Don about him is very emotional. you can feel Cheadle's character's frustration and anger and everything.

It's a good movie with great acting and atmosphere, but some of the dialogue and plot is rather contrived.

Don Cheadle was a producer on the flick... you know damn well he took the role of the cop who is partners with Jennifer Espisiro for that sex scene! I mean... cmon now.... its fuckin Jennifer Espisito!!
And ya it wasnt Matt Damon (haha i cant even think of his name without thinking of Team America: World Police) i thinnk dude was referring to Matt Dillon!

Just saw this for the first time this afternoon ... EXCELLENT movie. Even though things like the ...

... were really obvious to me, they were still great plot points. And the cast was great too! I usually HATE Brendan Fraser and mildly dislike Sandra Bullock, but even they didn't pull down the cast.
