Just watched 'The Upside of Anger' last night (7/10) and, a drinker myself (drinker, not a drunk. I very rarely drink to get drunk), I'm curious as to what drinky drink Joan Allen liked to imbibe in in the movie.
I'm assuming it was some type of vodka, considering she always had a slice of lime in it, but what kind of vodka? The bottle she always grabbed at the store was tall and thin and clear with blue writing/graphics on it.
The only vodka I ever buy is the "more quanity less quality" 9.99ish half gallon jugs, like Phillips or Popov vodka. I'd like to try something better, with better flavor to it. I'm assuming since she was a downright drunkard for most of the movie, the vodka was damn good, otherwise she wouldn't have been drinking it.
So, anyone know what it is?

^^^^^The man knows good vodka^^^^^
Absolut has blue writing as well:

I've also seen clear SKYY bottles.
One thing I would like to suggest....
Could it have been the more common Gin and Lime?
Bombay Saphire, although it has no clear bottle....:

Either way - I'm not much into vodka or gin. More of a scotch or whiskey kind of fellow myself. Grey Goose is really great though.

Glad to be of service. If I've learned anything while being at college its my alcohol. Grey Goose is certainly good stuff but its so damn pricey. It's definately the best tasting.
If you buy shitty stuff like Rubinoff or Caldwells(mmm.yummy) and run it through a Brita or something a few times its suppose to get taqstier. Saw that on the internet somewhere.

Good idea.
I'd seen those online before, never really thinking about how they'd work, but yeah, I bet it's nothing but a brita filter or something.
My rule has always been the the alcohol must be on a shelf at the same level or higher than you :D
Oh, and never get vodka during drink specials.
Yay! Encouraging drinking. jackson's already promised a round of grey goose!

Then you but a gallon of that 1/2 water, 1/2 artificial flavor juice. The real cheap stuff and go half vodka/half juice in a cup with lots of ice. Few of those and your in for one hell of a night and one terrible morning. TRUST ME!!!

This is hands down the best vodka available in any market. I was going to say this, but I see many beat me to the punch.

Heh this thread makes me think of when I was at my friends house and we did 11 shots for 3 dollars. All 11 shots were different types of liquor. The worst thing was HENNESY, it went down so hard and considering it was shot #11, I almost imploded when the burn reached my chest.
I gotta get me some of da goose.

Ok, well, while in the liquor store today, I realized Grey Goose isnt it. The bottle looks much different close up than it does on here and in the movie. I also didnt purchase any GG because all they had was a half gallon that was 60 (SIXTY!) dollars. So I went with this instead (shying away from my habit of the cheap stuff, price and quality cheap I mean) for only $15:

Never had any Smirnoff other than Ice or Triple Black (their beer type beverages), so I'm looking forward to it. Plus, even though it was only $5 more than the stuff I normally buy, I know the quality is gonna be 10 times more at least.
I still have 'Upside of Anger' checked out from my library, so I plan on doing a "freeze-frame/zoom" of one of the scenes in the store where she buys the booze and see if I can make out the bottle.
And I'm sure I'll have some Grey Goose someday. I plan on it.

Since we are talking about drinks in movies, Im trying to find out what Sean Bateman was drinking at the end or beginning of Rules of Attraction it has a black label and its got what appears to be a white circle on it. Now I know that it isnt Jack because thats all i drink. Any ideas?

Smirnoff Vanilla mixed with coke or pepsi or whatever is the shit.
Never had Grey Goose, but with the recommendation its gotten, i may have to check out some.
Beer wise, i go with Heinekein (or however the fuck its spelled)... but most parties i hit its the keg of Miller or Coors light.

Let's turn this thread into an offical reccommend a movie and a drink thread. (Bonus non-usable points for a reccomendation of a movie and drink that tie-in to one another). I'll go first.
Tonight, watch "The Big Lebowski" and enjoy a White Russian with the Dude (The Dude's only drink throughout the movie).
