The new album has been leaked, so I guess everyone on here will have heard it by now. The word is pretty sketchy by people right now, very mixed feelings overall. I'm going to give it a listen to see if they improved since Do You Want To was a pretty good single. Just a quick browse and it pretty much seems like the same thing as the previous album. Of course I don't favor them too much, so ignore my thoughts ;)

Here's a link to a bunch of mirrors to the album if you're interested you filthy pirate (http://www.glassdanse.com/news/index.php/2005/09/09/franz-ferdinand-you-could-have-it-so-much-better-with-franz-ferdinand-uk/#more-648)

Seems like all webrips are ripped from iTunes.

Are the rippers just uneducated with ripping encoding, or is iTunes like ridiculously easy to find an album stream and cap.

I guess what I'm asking is with these webrips, including the Sigur Ros one that hit soulseek, are they cd sourced with dumb rippers or just dump rippers and faux source?

With only a single listen behind me this already sounds like a cracking follow up to last year's self titles debut. I don't want to sing it's praises too emphatically until i've lived with it for at least a week. Thus far though...can't complain.

Haven't downloaded it and won't as I don't like the lead off single (lyrics are funny but it's just so... blah). The next single or two will have to be really impressive to bump this up the priority list

Good stuff. It definatly gets better after a couple listens.

I'll be buying it.

I think this album is a mix - some great songs, some not-so-memorable ones. They're all catchy as hell, but it seems the unpredictability has become slightly predictable. Franz Ferdinand seem all too aware of their formula and all too intent on sticking to it. Nevertheless, some cool tunes that stand out on the first few listens:

The Fallen
What You Meant
Outsiders
Eleanor Put Your Boots On
Walk Away

Besides The Fallen, nothing as out-of-the-blue stunning as Take Me Out but a worthy follow-up to their debut.

Did anyone see Franz Ferdinand on Craig Ferguson a few nights ago?

Here are the videos:

The Fallen (http://64.23.126.176/franz/ff-cf-the-fallen-small.mpg)

Pretty good stuff. I wish more people were talking about the new album. I didn't expect it to fly under the radar as it has.

The debut is probably better... though Outsiders, The Fallen, I'm Your Villan, Walk Away and Eleanor, Put Your Boots On are all great.
