Green Day is a good band (although I agree that the video to "Wake Me Up When September Ends" is a shitty video) MCR is not. (IMO of course:))

You can't compare the two... Greenday has been around for 13 years, and My Chemical Romance has been around for like, two… not even. Besides all that, they’re two completely separate genres of music, it doesn’t make any sense to compare them.

I kinda liked the Wake Me Up Before September Ends vid. Haven't seen the My Chemical Romance vid but my hatred of their particular brand of histrionic nonsense is likely to impede my enjoyment.

What Green Day plays and what My Chemical Romance plays is more similar than most comparisons of different genres, easily.

Shit...that's tough. I happen to enjoy pretty much all of Green Day's albums to an extent and think that a few of them border on being quite magnificent (Dookie, American Idiot and the underrated Warning). Suddenly a wave of vitriol seems to have been directed at the band for reasons that I can't quite fathom (perhaps it was always thus and I didn't notice). Still...the world would be a particularly boring place if everyone liked everything equally.

This isn't about who is the better band, its who has the better video.

MCR has the better video, by far. And possibly the better song, too. I LOVE when the ballroom washes away with the water and the soldiers run across. Coolest edit, ever!

Ya know what, I'm saying it a lot of times because it's a really really big thing for me. Especially because when I spent at least one weekend a month going to see them live and my friends saying "that band is stupid, they aren't gonna get big". They're so different than they used to be.
