People always mention the same fights as the best. Neo v.s Morpheous, Neo v.s Agent. Smith, Maul v.s Obi Wan and Qui Gon. What are the best underrated fights?

I say Patricia Arquette v.s James Gandolfini in True Romance.

I always liked the bedroom fight between Michael York and Faye Dunaway in The Three Musketeers. That Faye was just such an incorrigible bitch. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif

Some lesser discussed great cinema fights:

The first ever martial arts fight in a US film, with Frank Sinatra in THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE.

John Wayne's big brawl at the end of THE QUIET MAN

The fist fights in the James Cogburn/Charles Bronson street fighting film HARD KNOCKS

The martial arts fight in CRIMSON RIVERS with Tekken playing in the background

All the fights in Andrew Lau's STORMRIDERS and A MAN CALLED HERO.

Tsui Hark's THE BLADE has arguably the best sworedplay ever filmed.

Their was one movie called Tough and Deadly starring Roddy Piper (yes the wwf star) and tae bo man himself,Billy Blanks. The one scene was great,truly....blanks got caught by the bad guys or something and they put him in hand cuffs and shoved him in the back seat.He then kicked the bad guy on the passenger side, kicked the driver and the driver flew out the front window, and headbutted and kicked the dude on the passenger side again and he fell through the side window, and blanks jumped out of the side window before the car blew up.Its awesome.

Some years ago Tsui Hark made couple of films with Van Damme (Double Team, Knock Out). I think that they are a bit underrated. OK! They are pretty dumb and Van Damme isnīt that much of an actor but they were entertaining for an action addict like me.
In the end of Double Team thereīs a fight scene between Van Damme and Mickey Rourke. It was really nicely made and filmed.
I must also mention one film from Deckardīs- list. Itīs also Tsui Harkīs film The Blade. I agree that this film has one of the best sword fighting scenes of all time.

There is this one fight scene in 'They Live'where Roddy Piper tries to force this dude to put on a pair of sunglasses so he can see the aliens too. They start beating the shit out of each other and it lasts for more than 10 minutes... or there about .Pretty rad stuff.

Bastard. That was one of mine. Seriously, that's a great fight, brutal and inventive.

How about:
Jack VS Angelface in Fight Club
Westly Vs Inigo Montoya (IMHO the greatest swordfight ever filmed) in The Princess Bride
Colnel (is that his rank?) Fitts hitting Ricky in American Beauty (Shocking and fast, more like a real life fight)

Hardly anyone ever acknowledges the fights in Every Wich Way But Loose or it's sequel.

Also there is an old Sean Penn film called Bad Boys that has an outstanding fight scene at the end. Also the soda can scene (if you've seen it you know what I mean).

Even though it was animated, I loved the fight between Tarzan and the leopard in Disney's TARZAN.

Although people acknowledge it most of the time, not enough praise can be given to Superman's battle in Metropolis against his three intergalactic foes in SUPERMAN II. Some awesome combat here.

I guess Eddie Norton vs. Himself in front of his boss in FIGHT CLUB, but then again, that's probably talked about.

In Blankman when Damon Wayans fights that guy in the alley and he says, 'Slap me around and call me Susan' and the guy responds 'Okay Susan', 'I warned you Susan'... Now that was cinematic gold!

i thought *THE MUSKETEER* had some really cool fight sequences that were underrated, but no one really talks about them. *which is probably why i mentioned it in this thread eh?*

1. The jail-room scene in "Natural Born Killers" when Mallory (Juliette Lewis) seduces and then kicks the crap out of Detective Jack Scagnetti (Tom Sizemore). She just gets all into it, and beats the living shite out of him. Rockin', brutal stuff!

2. Ash versus his own hand in "Evil Dead II: Dead by Dawn". Fast paced...great slapstick...looney, cartoonish violence at its least meaningful!
