Ving Rhames makes me wanna be black. The guy has class, powerful acting skills, and for a big guy, is damn good looking. (I'm secure enough in my manhood to admit when a guy has it goin'on)He also does ballet. DID YOU HEAR ME? Ballet!!!!
Just watch "Bringing Out The Dead". (Best film of 1999 save "Eyes Wide Shut") Ving is a big part of that film's greatness.
Other afroamericannegrodarkiesoulbrothers that have serious talent:

1. Forest Whitaker
2. Don Cheadle
3. Cleavon Little
4. Jamie Foxx
5. Sammy Davis, Jr.
6. Samuel L. Jackson

Great choices, but I have one more to add (although he's more known for his great voice than his acting):

James Earl Jones

This is CNN.

Oh absolutely Benny, James Earl Jones is wonderful. I can't believe I've fogotten him. He was great in Field of Dreams and The Hunt for Red October just to name a couple.

I meant nothing by it. I actually carefully considered the words I chose, to ensure that someone like you wouldn't get upset.

This honkywhiteywhitebreadcracker is not going to get into a pissing contest. You were offended & I apologize. I'm not a racist, and by the tone of your posts, I get the feeling that you think I am.

I feel bad about that.

Everything's cool now.I accept your apology.

I'm going with Fishburne (Cadence/Boyz N the Hood)
Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction/Die Hard 3)
Denzel (Training Day/Courage Under Fire/ Crimson Tide)
and Don Cheadle (Traffic/Colors), who is probobly the most underated actor out there.

For females, Angela Basset (Waiting to Exhale/Strange Days)
Halle Berry (Losing Isiah/Monster's Ball)
Jada Pinkett Smith (Menace To Society/Jason's Lyric)

I don't think there is any actor/leading man better than Denzel Washington. There might be some who are on his level, but I don't think anyone is better!

I also like Halle Berry alot. I think she gave one of the best performances in the last several years in Monster's Ball.

And Morgan Freeman is the MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Check that, as great as Denzel is, Morgan Freeman is the best actor ever!!!!!!
