Wisconsin Governor, Jim Doyle is asking oil companies for a 88billion dollar refund amid the surfacing data indicating price gouging by oil companies.

Here is his letter:

Here's a study relased by a Wisonsin University:

Long story short, based on the data, it was determined that crude oil would have to run about 90 cents a barrel to account for $3.00 per gallon of gas. However, crude oil, for the last month has been sold at about 60 cents a barrel.

They go into the other factors involved, but overall they've shown pretty clearly that the gas prices were unnecessarily raised surrounging Katrina.

I remember last year in Florida, they were bringing criminal charges against motel owners, charing $100 to stay at their $25 a night motels, gas stations charging $15 for water, and so on --- It's a felony.

The research deduced that the oil companies together brought in the 88 billion dollars through illegal means, and is setting to file a move against them asking for reimbursement in his state.

I don't understand why so many people gave the oil companies a benefit of doubt. Greed isn't exactly a new thing.

As long as prices fall sharply and the oil companies suffer enough to never try that shit again, I'll be satisfied.

Yeah, I'm feeling like the oil industry is becoming the new tobacco industry. People are just starting to see the, um, ways they can get scammed.

I don't think the money will come around either, but I'm sure huge fines will come about. They will probably end back up in the oil companies pockets through way of subsidaries getting an urban renewal contract, or something along those lines.

I just get happy anytime it gets stuck to The Man.
